L’affaire Farr: Tim Scott? Down with the struggle. Burr / Tillis? Useless /MIA.

We’re starting to learn a valuable lesson here.  If  a DC Republican wants to nominate you for something, BEWARE.  The minute leftists say the slightest negative thing about you, your Republican brethren on The Potomac will drop you like a hot potato and hang you out to dry like this morning’s laundry.  Raleigh’s Tom Farr is the latest to learn this lesson — THE HARD WAY.  Farr got nominated to fill a vacant federal court seat serving North Carolina. He’s been run through the driveby media meat-grinder with nary an assist from his fellow GOPers.  Leftist dirtbags from The Round…

Robeson County getting increased scrutiny in state probe of 2018 vote

Gosh, I’m looking almost psychedelic — er, psychic — on this state election investigation in the 9th congressional district. Democrat partisans have tried to use the probe to block the seating of congressman-elect Mark Harris in the US House — citing allegations against a Republican operative in Bladen County.  But now, it’s starting to look like a Democrat powerhouse may have had a much bigger role in any election mischief in the 9th: Victory in the fight for a District Court bench position in Robeson County has been snatched from Vanessa Burton — at least for now. The North Carolina Board of Elections on Friday elected not…

DC libs prepare to ‘Kavanaugh’ Tom Farr. Burr & Tillis need to step up to the plate.

THIS came out over Twitter Friday: They made now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh a skeevy perv.  While the Republican majority has left North Carolina’s Tom Farr, an approved nominee for the federal bench, hanging out there to dry — Democrats have been trying to paint him as the second coming of Lester Maddox. Farr’s “offenses”?  Working as counsel to the 1990 Jesse Helms reelection campaign and defending election reforms — like voter ID — proposed by the GOP majority in the state legislature.  I can’t vouch for Farr’s level of conservatism.  I know he has been a good foot-soldier for the state…

Monkey Business Report: Creative campaign finance disclosure

Judge Phil Berger, Jr. must have attended the same campaign finance reporting classes state Rep. David Lewis did.  Both men appear to struggle with the accuracy of donor information.  For instance  — the donor’s business / line of work. A new complaint against Judge Berger sheds some light: A campaign finance complaint filed against N.C. Court of Appeals Judge Phil Berger Jr. says he failed to disclose who paid for food, drinks and other expenses at his 2016 campaign fundraisers. The complaint also says Berger — whose father is Senate leader Phil Berger — listed two donors as alpaca farmers…

#ncpol: A tantrum from the bench …

Judges ARE the kings (and queens) of their respective courtrooms.  What they say GOES for the events within those four particular walls. Sometimes, they take things a wee bit too far.  Case in point, District Court Judge Dale Deese (Unaffiliated) of Robeson County.  Deese was appointed to fill a vacancy by then-Gov. Pat McCrory.  McCrory ignored the recommendations of (1) the local bar association and (2) the local GOP in appointing Deese, a Democrat-turned-Unaffiliated with close ties to some long-time Democrat financiers (who had thrown McCrory a little cash recently). Judges typically don’t become the focal point of news coverage….

“Former Bush Justice Department official” at heart of Helms-Farr smear has sordid radical left ties

The lefties are pounding away at Trump judicial nominee Tom Farr for, among other things, his work on behalf of the late US Senator Jesse Helms.  At the heart of the leftist attacks is testimony from “former Bush Justice Department official” Gerry Hebert.  Hebert was a harsh critic of some postcards sent out by the 1990 Helms campaign to black voters, and has resurfaced to claim: Farr (1) was behind the postcards, and (2) lied about them to the Senate. Those of you who follow politics and government like I do know that administrations change in DC and Raleigh, but…

#ncpol: Hung out to dry

The liberal jackals are snarling for the chance to taste Tom Farr’s blood. He’s a lawyer who has been  a good soldier for the NCGOP over the years.  He did some legal work two decades ago for our five-times duly-elected US senator Jesse Helms.  And, for that, the late senator, his associates, and Farr are being smeared as Nazis, Klansmen, the disenfranchisers of black voters and the killers of black babies. So much for honest debate about the issues.  The leftists are out to destroy Farr, What makes it worse is that the guys who recommended Farr for a federal…

#ncpol: Smearing Mr. Farr

I swear.  It seems like the people who rail the loudest about “hate” are the most hate-filled people on the planet.  Dare to disagree with these people? Then YOU, SIR (or ma’am) are a bigot who must be called out, ruined, and crushed.  Case in point: federal judge nominee Thomas Farr from North Carolina. Local and national libs are railing against this man like he’s the second coming of Hitler.  The Round Rev has gotten into the game.  As has IndyWeek and The Southern Poverty Law Center.  You know the SPLC.  They are the ones who group The Minnesota Catholic…

#ncga: Speaker Timmy, Gov. Pat reportedly SHOVED aide’s appointment to district court bench down chief judge’s throat

That’s the word we’re getting from deep inside the political machine in our state’s capital city. We reported earlier that an associate in the Law Offices of Speaker Timmy in Kings Mountain ran, and lost, a race for a District Court judgeship in November.  This week, Gov. Pat McCrory appointed this young man to the district court bench, less than a month after his defeat at the hands of local voters.  Well, we NOW hear that young Mr. Brackett, Speaker Timmy’s protégê, was appointed to that district court seat over the vehement objections of the district’s chief judge.  I am…

Another federal judge, another slap at North Carolina

A George W. Bush appointee on the federal bench has ordered the University of North Carolina to STOP enforcing gender-segregation of locker rooms and bathrooms:  […] A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the University of North Carolina from enforcing the state’s so-called “bathroom bill” from applying to three transgender plaintiffs in a challenge brought by LGBT rights groups. Judge Thomas D. Schroeder of the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina wrote that the plaintiffs had “made a clear showing” that they are likely to succeed on their claim that part of the law violates Title…
