Facts can be such troublesome things. The mainstream media has been gushing over the “courage” shown by Senator Kay Hagan — affectionately know in many quarters as Chuck Schumer’s Sock Puppet™ — for her efforts to seek a delay in the ObamaCare enrollment deadline. The problem for Madame Pantsuit here is that she was out front from the very beginning peddling the spin — that we all now know was a lie — that you can keep your existing health plan if you want to.
North Carolinians have been hit harder than anyone else in the country with cancelled policies and sky-rocketing premiums since ObamaCare rolled out on October 1.
The Daily Caller did a great job of calling out Hagan in print — and video — for her role in this snake-oil sales pitch:
Five of the Democratic senators pushing for a delay in the Obamacare enrollment period promised constituents that they would be able to keep their existing health plans under the new law.
Democratic Sens. Mark Begich of Alaska, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Kay Hagan of , and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire wrote a letter last week to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius urging a delay in the Obamacare enrollment deadline.
All five Democrats are up for re-election in 2014 in red or swing states. And all five Democrats helped move Obamacare forward by falsely telling their constituents that they could all keep their existing health plans under Obamacare.
