Uncle Thom blasts Senate Republicans for backing election integrity

At some point, will someone in leadership at the North Carolina Republican Party – or someone with the Mike Whatley campaign – reach out to Thom Tillis and tell him to stand down and STFU?

The prospects for Whatley and other in-state GOP candidates in November are looking quite ugly.  How can Tillis – working overtime to piss off a significant chunk of the base – possibly be helping?  (*Producers at CNN are not a reflection of the average GOP voter in North Carolina.*)

We already told you Uncle Thom was part of a key group of GOP sellouts who shivved the SAVE Act when it came up on the Senate floor.  THAT apparently wasn’t enough for Uncle Thom.  He had to put his deranged thoughts down in writing for his Senate GOP colleagues.  Here is a copy of that rant leaked to a conservative influencer:

Sooooooo — demanding proof of citizenship AND a photo ID in order to vote are unreasonable “unforced errors”?

We’ve seen what can be done with elections in the 2020 presidential race.  We’ve seen it in the never-ending primaries in California. Uncle Thom’s newfound friends in Robeson County have quite a checkered history with election integrity.

Face it — there are bad actors out there with deep pockets who would love to regularly see their agenda overrule ours by any means necessary at each and every vote.

So,  Uncle Thom thinks we need to avoid *uncomfortable* votes to protect minimal Republicans like himself and Susan Collins from the voters?  This is what we get for draining all of the principle and meaning out of being a Republican.  People like Thom Tillis and Paul Shumaker want the GOP to be about like choosing between joining the Kiwanis or Rotary, or rooting for MLB’s Atlanta or Washington. *Do what feels good. Pick a color.  Pick a club. (Enjoy lunch.)*

Instead of spending a bunch of money and watering down your agenda to benefit weaklings like Collins, Murkowski and Tillis — identify greener pastures with much better long-term prospects.

New England and the upper northeast are lost causes. But we’ve got a lot more country to work with.

Conservatism works.  For six years (1993-1999) North Carolina had the two most conservative senators on Capitol Hill.  Jesse Helms got 30 years on Capitol Hill.  John East (1980) got elected statewide. We did it before. We can do it again.

The people are sold on the idea of conservatism.  They just don’t see enough of it in action.  They’re getting worn out with people who campaign hard as conservatives and then govern like the liberals they just beat.  The lying gets tiresome.  Do what you told them you were going to do when you ran. I don’t remember Uncle Thom telling us he was going to do all this when he ran in 2014 and 2020.

Back to my original point – don’t count on the state party or Michael Whatley speaking up about Uncle Thom.  They agree with him wholeheartedly.  Whatley would not be where he is without Uncle Thom’s treachery.

If you’re a conservative, and you’re tired of getting sold out by these people — stop giving them a pass at each election. Stop funding them. Stop making excuses for them. Stop selling their lies to your friends and family.

Start paying attention. Start asking tough questions. Start doing research. Start recruiting good people to run against what we currently have.  Stop accepting whatever B-S they toss at you.

If you care about the future of our state and country, you’ll get to work right now.
