Whatley pauses his ads, but the poll hits keep coming.
It’s being reported that Michael Whatley is pausing his advertising less than one month before Election Day. Supposedly, his team wants to “re-think” their strategy.
*Yeah. How to pay for stuff after the DC money gods have cut you off.*
DC has reportedly already sunk $30 million into Whatley for Senate. And the polls keep looking ugly.
(But look on the, um, *bright* side, the Thom Tillis endorsement has finally come in.)
Speaking of those polls, another one – this from East Carolina University – just got released.
The survey – conducted Sept. 30 through Oct. 3 — has Cooper leading Whatley 50-43. The spread remains the same as last month, but undecideds have fallen from 14 percent to 6 percent.
Here are some key takeaways:
[…]
- A majority of likely voters (55%) name the economy and cost of living as their top issue, and among these voters Cooper expands his lead to 60% versus 31%.
- Cooper’s advantage is driven in part by a 16-point lead among independents (52% to 36% with about 7% undecided) and a net-positive favorability rating (48% favorable to 43% unfavorable), while Whatley’s ratings are net-negative (31% favorable to 43% unfavorable).
