Transitioning toddlers to transgenderism ON OUR DIME
North Carolina’s big three medical schools are training doctors on how to get the transgender ball rolling among our state’s youngest. Duke, UNC, and ECU are all in the thick of it.
We reported earlier that ECU, at least, was apparently targeting kids as young as four years old. New information from North Carolina’s Education First Alliance suggests that Duke is targeting kids as young as two, while UNC’s age floor is set at three.
Let’s check in at Duke:
Duke Medicine opened its Gender Clinic in 2015 to offer a wide variety of services under one roof. The clinic treats children as young as two for gender dysphoria.
Dr. Deanna Adkins, a transgender activist who runs the clinic, said this about her toddler trans patients in an interview with the Charlotte Observer in 2016:
“They are not old enough to consciously just choose to do that. … It is not a choice in any of my patients. It’s really an unpleasant thing to have going on in your body to feel that distress about yourself. I can’t imagine anyone who would choose to do that.”
[…] In her expert declaration to a federal district court in North Carolina concerning H.B. 2, Adkins stated, “From a medical perspective, the appropriate determinant of sex is gender identity.”
Adkins argues that gender identity is not only the preferred basis for determining sex, but “the only medically supported determinant of sex.” Every other method is bad science, she claims:
“It is counter to medical science to use chromosomes, hormones, internal reproductive organs, external genitalia, or secondary sex characteristics to override gender identity for purposes of classifying someone as male or female.”
This ludicrous sentiment explains how this doctor can see a 2-year-old girl play with a toy truck, and then begin treatment for gender dysphoria.[….]
*Nice.* And now let’s head down 15-501 to see how things are at UNC:
[…] A few miles down the road, at UNC Health, children as young as three can be evaluated for gender dysphoria. The clinic states it practices “gender affirming care” (gender transitioning) on its intake form:[…]
Interested parents are assured on UNC’s website that a team of psychiatrists, endocrinologists, family doctors, and surgeons will collaborate to “affirm” their child’s gender.
How eager is UNC Health to “affirm” gender (i.e chemically sterilize and castrate)?
So eager that its medical school residents offer cross sex hormones for free every third Wednesday.[…]
And now, let’s go a little further east to Greenville:
[…] ECU Heath recently jumped on the bandwagon and opened it’s own “Pride Clinic” seeing children of all ages. The activist who directs the clinic, Dr. Colby Dendy said this in an interview with the East Carolinian:
“The literature tells us that kids can start around age four having their gender identity, so we do not want to exclude anybody within the pediatrics realm,” Dendy said. “A big part of our goal is to provide affirming primary care to everybody in LGBTQ+ spectrum.”
A majority of ECU Health family medicine doctors indicate they are trained and ready to accept an influx of patients on the center’s website.
Dendy and her colleagues at ECU published a recent paper calling for doctors and clinics to push puberty blockers and hormones through telemedicine and school awareness programs.
A month after the doctors at the ECU Pride Clinic published the paper, the school announced it received $3.2 M for a telepsychiatry program for school children. […]
UNC and ECU are both state schools under the auspices of The University of North Carolina system. Duke is private, but still rakes in a lot of government cash.
Clayton Somers, longtime BFF to Speaker Timmy, is quite the influential shot-caller over at UNC. If the GOPe powers-that-be wanted this stuff STOPPED at UNC, it would have already been attempted or happened.
Nelson Dollar, a former GOPe legislator from Cary and also a 
Timmy BFF, was tucked into a cozy position in UNC’s School of Psychiatry — which is right in the middle of a lot of this “gender-affirming” nonsense.
Again, if the alleged party of traditional values — which holds a supermajority in the General Assembly — wanted to stop this stuff, they are well-positioned to do it. But all we’re hearing on the matter is crickets.
By the way, congressman Greg Murphy has served as the chief of the Urology Division within ECU’s medical school and likely continues to maintain a level of influence there. It would be interesting to hear what he thinks about this “gender-affirming” nonsense being doled out to toddlers.
Medicaid is very generous in paying for a lot of this stuff. Raleigh Republicans just voted to expand Medicaid — dumping even more money into the pot. So, there will be a lot of government cash in play to “pay” for this pediatric “gender-affirming” nonsense.
Once again, folks — there is NO ONE looking out for us in Raleigh or DC. It’s all about lining their pockets, their friends’ pockets, and scoring big personal favors. Every two years, we keep extending the lease to keep them in this insidious game.
Instead of being the usual cowards that they are. Our “conservative” representatives should stop pussyfooting around the issue. Instead of only wanting to ban this insanity from our children. We should just shut it down period. Just say “This is evil, and we’re not allowing it for anyone regardless of age.” Full stop.
So typical for our Republican legislators to only go after this evil from “Not for the children” angle. Instead of just outright opposing it as the evil that it is. In no sane world should the insanity of “transgenderism” be allowed. This is very reminiscent of the Berlin institute of Sexology, during the Weimar Republic era of Germany. It should not be tolerated.

The cowards in the NC House only passed a ban on genital mutilation surgery on children, but would continue to allow powerful drugs that have a permanent negative impact on the human body. The drug used as a “puberty blocker” for boys is the same one used for chemical castration of rapists. The ACLU is dead set against administering it to rapists but all in favor of administering it to gender confused young boys. The testosterone treatments of girls can also cause permanent infertility and other health problems. Our House Republicans would allow this child abuse to continue. Shameful!

I have been searching online for what I heard on the radio and don’t see it on the NCGA site. This may have been committee action rather than floor action, and the radio comment wrong about where it happened. Whatever, a half way surrender like this would not be acceptable.
This bill came to the floor today and passed 74-44, but no list of how particular legislators voted is currently available online. The prohibition of administration of drugs for gender reassignment that was in the original bill had been stripped out, obviously in committee, and the bill now only prohibits the genital mutilation surgeries. The companion Senate bill has been sitting in the Rules Committee for almost a month.
Children can be seriously and permanently damaged physically by the powerful drugs used by these quacks. It is appalling that this bill continues to allow that.
Absolutely Disgusting. Child Abuse. The GOP Leadership in the NCGA should be ashamed. The Leadership continues to hand over our tax dollars to these places.
Will the Medicaid Expansion pay for Puberty Blockers?
Yes it WILL pay for those chemical castration drugs in North Carolina. Those who sold out the grassroots and voted for the far left Obamacare Medicaic expansion also voted for this child abuse. They are unfit for office.

It is even worse than that. Medical monopolies and oligopolies are a real threat to the consumer. Already these huge hospital corporations have been buying up medicial practices to create conglomerates. This is a massive attack on free enterprise and consumer sovereignty. Huge medical conglomerates are a big problem already and this bill is pouring gasoline on the fire. Just unbelievable!
