Ellmers anticipating GOP primary challenge for 2012

The New York Times has an article up today about nationwide voter anger, and how it could affect the job security of many congressional incumbents.   U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers, a Dunn Republican likely to be representing Moore County in 2012, is quoted in the article:

“If you’re here, you’re going be a target,” said Representative Renee Ellmers of North Carolina, a Republican freshman. “I think you’re going to see a lot of challenges within our own party. I am assuming I will.”

This blogger has picked up credible information about one — and possibly two — prominent Republican(s) in the region mulling a primary challenge to the Dunn Republican.  It has also been reported that Bob Etheridge, the Democrat incumbent narrowly defeated by Ellmers in 2010, has been seen at recent Democrat National Committee candidate recruitment meetings in DC.
