Those US-Mexico border-crashing “children”? Eligible for ObamaCare.
Yep. That’s right. Barry Obama’s world-class web site lays it all out for us:
In order to buy private health insurance through the Marketplace, you must be a U.S. citizen or be lawfully present in the United States. The term “lawfully present” includes immigrants who have:
- “Qualified non-citizen” immigration status without a waiting period (see the definition below)
- Humanitarian statuses or circumstances (including Temporary Protected Status, Special Juvenile Status, asylum applicants, Convention Against Torture, victims of trafficking)
- Valid non-immigrant visas
- Legal status conferred by other laws (temporary resident status, LIFE Act, Family Unity individuals)
Evidence has been discovered that a lot of these border-crashers are being coached by leftist activists — and God knows who else — to claim any of the statuses in bullet point #2 above. The most popular tactic involves seeking protection under the 2008 William Wilberforce Law — passed to protect kids fleeing human traffickers and signed by President George W. Bush just months before he left office. The law requires that all of these kids have hearings before they are deported. The courts that hear these cases have years-long backlogs.
We previously learned that at least 1200 of these little darlings have been dumped covertly within the borders of North Carolina — without any notification being given to the state government. We learned today that 12,300 people in North Carolina need additional immigration documents in order to keep their health insurance. Reading between the lines of the linked article, I think it is safe to interpret “insurance” as Medicaid PAID FOR BY YOU AND ME.
Where are our elected leaders on all of this ???
The solution is obvious. Stop them from entering and that would solve this and all the other issues that come with illegal entry. This is how you can understand what Obama is trying to do. There’s an easy solution but it is bypassed, just like the laws in order to achieve his “vision” for the world and America. I would also like to point out, if Obama was consistent he would have not challenged a Memphis judge’s ruling allowing the German home school family to stay in the USA. (see paste below)
“The Romeikes were initially granted asylum by a Memphis judge who believed that Germany had unfairly restricted the family’s religious freedom. That decision was challenged and overturned by the Obama administration on appeal, which argued that Germany’s home schooling ban did not constitute religious persecution and could not be used as a basis for asylum in the United States”
Thom Tillis has been MIA on the issue of the Central American border crashers. Why is he ducking it? A strong stance, if credible, might get him more of the conservative vote, but it also might discourage some of his big financial backers, the fanatically pro-amnesty US Chamber of Commerce and strident amnesty backer Karl Rove.
With the legislature still in town, Tillis might actually get some traction with conservative voters that he has been missing if he tackled this issue. I wonder if we could at least try to put some roadblocks in their qualifying for Medicaid?
The opportunity is there Thom. Will you man up?
Most countries in the world with struggling economies have closed off their borders to all immigrants legal or not.
