Trump to GOP Senate: Stay in DC. DO YOUR JOB!

It’s sad when you have to tell highly-paid adults stuff like this.

We raised concerns earlier about the lack of activity in confirming Trump judges and prosecutors. Apparently, the Trump White House is getting a little sick of the lack of energy and work ethic in the GOP-controlled US Senate.

It seems the, um, “honorables” want to disappear for the whole month of August — despite the fact they are woefully behind in getting Trump the prosecutors and judges he needs to get stuff done.

How woefully behind are we talking?

According to the federal court system’s website, there are fifty federal court seats that are coming or have come vacant, but only eleven replacement nominees.  (The Senate just confirmed their first Trump judge nominee for Trump’s second term.)

According to the site, North Carolina has FOUR vacant seats  — two held by  Democrat appointees.  According to the site, no nominees have been put forward for those NC seats.  (Where in the hell are Tillis and Budd?  Thom Tillis sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is charged with confirming federal judges.)

Where do the nominees typically come from?  They are recommended to The White House by the senator or senators from the relevant state and from the president’s party.  If there is no senator from the state in question from the president’s party, the recommendations /nominees can come from other elected Republicans from that state in DC.

We’ve seen the havoc that liberal judges appointed by previous liberal presidents can wreak.  You would think our elected Republicans in DC would be falling all over themselves to get Trump and America some competent judges.

We also told you about US attorneys.  As we noted, North Carolina has three federal prosecutorial districts.  Only one – the western – has a Trump appointee in place as US attorney.

There are a total of 94 US attorney slots in the country.  South Carolina has filled their seat.  Virginia has filled their three.  The most current info we can find suggests that only 25 percent of the total US attorney slots have been filled by Trump appointees.

Yep, Thune, Budd, Tillis and the gang have some work to do.

Sorry, guys. NO month-long vacation.
