Scraggly Thom Tillis giving us a foreign- AND domestic-brand screwing

Western North Carolina still has a mess on its hands. Scraggly Thom showed up once for a photo op with the US secretary of transportation, and then did THIS:

THISTHIS is why we’re having to wait on a confirmation vote for Kash Patel to be FBI director, among others.  So Scraggly Thom and his free-wheeling playmates can milk the taxpayers for a European vacation and play pretend-president.

The president picks ambassadors and a Secretary of State to help him carry out our nation’s foreign policy.  The lunkheads on Capitol Hill OK the finances of said policy.  Though, if you consider this page — *Thom and his playmates have done ONE HELL OF A JOB of managing government spending, eh?*

(Speaking of managing money, when are we going to hear more about the $700K from a senior exec in convicted fraudster Sam Bankman Fried‘s bitcoin exchange deposited in a PAC tied to Tillis?  When, huh?)

Scraggly Thom still has the nerve to suggest Trump and Musks’s DOGE tactics are ‘unconstitutional.’

This comes from a guy who sure does enjoy traveling around the world on the taxpayer dime playing pretend-president.  (The ‘belly-aching’ quote should be taken as 100 percent sarcasm. I’m positive.)

Sure, it’s embarrassing to have someone come on the scene and wave evidence in your face that you’ve failed to properly manage the people’s money.  Musk has done everyone a favor by pointing out legitimate waste and fraud. With a handful of votes, Tillis and his playmates can kill off all of Musk’s recommendations they want.

If they do, it will speak volumes about where the problem in DC really is.

McClatchy is beside itself.  They’re trying soooooo hard to paint Tillis as being on-board with Trump and not getting the love he, um, *deserves.*.  Take a minute to read what this goofy chick had to say:

[…] Sen. Thom Tillis falling in line with President Donald Trump is not out of character. It’s what he did in his previous election cycle.[…]

Actually, Tillis went on Tucker Carlson’s Fox show and trashed the southern border wall project. Sure, Scraggly Thom got a Trump endorsement in a tighter-than-expected 2020 Senate race.

Trump, himself, was up for reelection and he didn’t want to lose a Republican-held Senate seat. (Even if it was held by a weasel who would screw him over in a Huntersville minute.)

According to Heritage Action, Tillis spent the last Senate session voting to the left of Vermont socialist Bernie Sanders.

Scraggly Thom regularly votes to the left of the average Senate Republican.  He is significantly to the left of our very own Ted Budd.

HOW is THAT being on board with MAGA?

This next part is called ‘Spin.’ Try not to vomit:

[…] Some question if Tillis’ recent support is a way to maintain Trump’s favor going into the 2026 election, and whether Tillis is afraid to step out of line, a notion his campaign consultant, Jordan Shaw, strongly rejects. “The reality is, I think, a lot of folks in the media like to write this story,” Shaw said. “They certainly liked to write about it in Trump’s first four years because there’s this, I think, false narrative that questions like this can create division. The reality is that Sen. Tillis has been focused, these first several weeks of the Trump administration, on helping the president get a jump start on his agenda.” […]

Getting a *jump start on his agenda*?  *You mean stuff like getting Pete Hegseth confirmed through the Senate?*

Afraid to step out of line? After Trump was quizzing members of the North Carolina congressional delegation about who wanted his help in primarying Tillis, I’d bet so.  Scraggly Thom started behaving a lot less sneaky when that came out.

Hold on. We’ve got another vomit alert:

[…] Shaw said Democrats didn’t count on Tillis’ ability to beat Hagan, just as they hadn’t expected him to help engineer the breaking of a more than 100-year Democratic majority in the legislature, become speaker or find ways to override a Democratic governor’s veto. “Thom Tillis is one of the most transformational, impactful figures in modern North Carolina political history,” Shaw said. “They’ve underestimated this man for 14 years.”  […]

Transformational?  I’ll say.  *He’s really good at becoming whatever the guy or gal handing him the biggest wad of cash wants him to be.*

Tillis got through the 2014 GOP primary by orchestrating a split in the conservative vote.  He barely got past a walking-dead Democrat incumbent opponent. Scraggly Thom has yet to see 50 percent in a statewide race that many other more conservative GOPers have.

Engineering the legislative majority?  According to my sources who were in the victory party backroom on Election Night 2010, Tillis was led into the room by a gaggle of Charlotte money-men.  One of the money-guys motioned to Tillis and told the gathered GOP leadership: “Meet your new speaker.”  And the rest was history.

There is genuine anger out there among the peasants.  We’ve been lied to and double-crossed so much by this man.  You can only take so much.

Team Tillis sees this too.  No significant primary opponent has emerged — yet. I get the sense a credible conservative challenger would be well-received.
