New polling for NC: Trump +2 (stein +10)
The first polling since the publication of CNN’s X-rated blockbuster allegations against Mark Robinson is out. It’s about what you might expect. The NY Times / Siena poll shows Josh Stein leading Robinson 47-37 percent. (The poll was carried out September 17-21. The story broke on Sept. 18.)
The last, most recent NYT / Siena poll (in August) produced a result of 49-39 percent in favor of Stein. The numbers shifted, but the margin stayed the same.
The cross-tabs for this latest poll offer some interesting tidbits. For instance, there is a regional breakdown for where the candidates’ support comes from. Robinson leads in the Charlotte suburbs (49-35) and western North Carolina (46-31). Stein and Robinson are basically even (43-41) in the east. Stein holds big leads in Mecklenburg County (50-35), the Piedmont-Triad (55-27), and in Raleigh-Durham (70-22).
Here’s how things have shaken out overall thus far (h/t RealClearPolling):
According to RealClear, that’s an average result of 48.8 to 39.3 percent — a victory margin of 9.5 percent for Stein. As you can see, it includes all major polling going back to November.
You have to go back to late May-early June to find polling that shows a Robinson lead.
Let’s put this in perspective. Here are the final results of the last two races for governor in North Carolina:
The other race everyone is watching is — of course — the BIG ONE for that big White House on Pennsylvania Avenue in DC. The same NYT / Siena poll gives Donald Trump a 2-point lead in North Carolina. Here’s some NC polling history for the presidential race:
The most recent, last poll from NYT / Siena (in August) had Harris leading Trump by 2 in North Carolina.
To put the presidential numbers in perspective, here’s what happened in the last two big election years in North Carolina:
Once again, I am going to encourage all of you to wrench yourselves from out behind your key board and drive through North Carolina this weekend. Be sure to stop in several WalMarts on your tour.
We are SWARMING, literally SWARMING, with illegals. Everywhere but especially in the reddest parts of the state. By design.
And once again I am going to implore you to get your heads out of your asses, Please, I beg you, table all of the justifiable outrage until November 6.
You have a simple choice: vote for Robinson to stem the invasion and advance Trump’s agenda OR usher in evil and the final fundamental transformation of this state and country with Stein.
It really is as simple as that. And, I simply do not understand how THIS readership does not get this or what is at stake in November.
Go see the sh$thole we have become for yourself. And then close your eyes and imagine it on overdrive with Stein.
Amen.
You are aware that ONCE MR became Lt Gov he became SILENT on all and any support he had given various stances.
What has HE DONE to STOP immigration? He’s had 4Y to stop the flow, address the issue, speak out about it. Unsure I’ve ever heard him speak on this issue?
You have your candidate. I was leaning and holding my nose to the point I would have suffocated, but I’m done.
He was PROVIDED forensic experts to dispute the allegations. HE REFUSED. His staff LEFT.
Tells me what I needed to know and hear.
He is destroying the ticket. State of NC deserves better. We shouldn’t be held hostage by MR.
I haven’t seen anything on immigration from any candidate for governor. I did see an ad run by someone on Robinson’s behalf attacking Stein on illegal immigration. It was a good ad. I would not trust the Libertarian candidate on immigration because Libertarians are historically inclined to open borders. I do not see anything on the Constitution Party candidate’s website addressing illegal immigration. Hint: he would help himself to do so.
I agree the Constitution Party’s candidate needs to address illegal immigration. Also, I think Mr. Smith should not assume that most voters would have any idea what the 7 core values of the Constitution Party are. More of that needs to be in his issues. Additionally, if a candidate facing the corporate funded candidates, chooses to skip the gun rights organization questionnaires, then he should address that issue himself. Having a zero or question mark on ratings does not look good. All these bases must be covered, especially when facing Goliath.
We know, we know, we KNOW.
But kindly put a cork in your outrage until November 6. Until then, get off your incensed butt, go help at the polls (Wake County needs poll observers) and make sure every one of your equally furious friends is registered to vote and then votes.
Because… either you vote for a candidate who will support Trump’s immigration agenda OR one who will turn this state into Guadalajara at best, Port-Au-Prince at worst.
It really IS that simple.
Ditto. Whatever Robinson’s past or present messes, he will not aid an abet the sheer destruction that the Democrats are inflicting upon us.
Amen! This is why Republicans lose elections as we just can’t seem to get out of our own way. I stand by Mark Robinson and will vote for him as the alternative is a continuation of the Commie Cooper policies and further destruction of the State of North Carolina. Everyone should have known a hit job was coming, because the Democrats hate it when a Black Conservative rises.
Stein lead is insurmountable with MR on the ticket.
7%, 10% lead, shocked it is that low.
2% Trump lead doesn’t bode well for down ticket balloting.
I said wks ago, our Council of State could look really bad come Nov
Yet, the Gen Assembly leadership seems to have NO concern or care. They continue to be silent, as if this is good news to them.
I believe, if Robinson were elected, he would only be the uniparty puppet. The thing that absolutely turned me off, is the Balanced Nutrition scam. BN was a nonprofit organization that, totally ripped off the US tax payer, to enrich Yolanda Hill-Robinson’s family. I hope NCHHS keeps a fire under her butt.
A New York Times/Siena College poll (manipulated to favor the dem/commies, BTW) that shows Stine up by 10 means that Robinson is actually down by 3. And if they say Trump is up by 2, he’s actually up by 6. (Guaranteed dems were oversampled by 6%.)
