#ncpol Way-Back Machine: Masks for Thee, but NOT for meeeeeeeee ….

We’re marking our 13th year of troublemaking in North Carolina politics. During those years, we’ve been able to accrue quite a searchable archive.  It can sometimes be quite fun to look at what some people said and did years ago and compare it to what they’re saying or doing today.

Back in November 2020, we were all told to wear masks, to stay six feet away from people, to cough into the crooks of our arms, to peek through the window from outside when visiting grandma, and to get shots, shots, shots and more shots. Governor Roy Cooper and then-DHHS chief Mandy Cohen conducted that particular symphony in-state.  Attorney General Josh Stein, being the top-notch Roy brown-noser he is, cheered it all on.

Well, it wasn’t long before some of our eyes-and-ears around Raleigh hit pay dirt.  One of them spotted our boy Josh outside a busy Raleigh night-spot in-the-face of two women and not wearing a mask.

So, we have at least one example of orders issued from Raleigh that don’t seem to apply to the Democrat boy-wonder. So, the next time you hear Josh Stein talking about some big change or mandate he plans to enact, it might not hurt to ask: “Will this apply to YOU too?”

Judging from his history, it only seems fair.
