#ncga: Senator Sanctuary
We’ve got a senator named Tom in DC who has shown true weakness on illegal immigration and protecting our national borders. It appears we may have a senator named Tom in Raleigh who may be just as weak.
In 2015, senator Tom McInnis was one of just THREE Republican senators to vote against HB318 “The Protect North Carolina Workers Act.”
From the General Assembly website, here’s the description of the bill:
“AN ACT TO REQUIRE E-VERIFY COMPLIANCE IN CERTAIN GOVERNMENTAL CONTRACTS, TO PROVIDE THAT CERTAIN CONSULATE OR EMBASSY DOCUMENTS MAY NOT BE USED TO DETERMINE A PERSON’S IDENTIFICATION OR RESIDENCE FOR GOVERNMENTAL AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES, TO PROHIBIT
ADOPTION OF SANCTUARY CITY ORDINANCES, AND TO PROHIBIT THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES FROM SEEKING CERTAIN WAIVERS.[…]”
Hmmm. Sounds like something a true conservative Republican would be proud to vote FOR.
In a time where we have caravans of illegals mobbing our southern border, is this a smart position to take? WHY oppose something like this?
Don’t forget that McInnis is also Senator “Boys in the Girls Bathroom” with his vote to repeal HB2. He is also Senator High Electric Rates with his vote to bail out expensive and unreliable solar energy.
He needs to be “former Senator” next year.
This itinerant Senator, looking for a district to land in, has all the markings of a fake Republican pol bought by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and by the Jones Street Mafia. Perhaps he should try running in sanctuaries like Chapel Hill, but not in Moore County.
