Criminal complaint, TRO filed in SWATTING of conservative candidate

We told you earlier about a conservative activist seeking office here in Moore County being the victim of a ‘swatting’ attack.  ‘Swatting’ involves making a false call to 9-1-1 alleging ongoing or potential violence at a target’s home.  (Hostage situation, ongoing assault and battery, murder in progress, etc.)

Most of the time, police show up with guns drawn ready for action, thinking they are intervening in a violent situation — only to interrupt a peaceful family dinner or a good night’s sleep.

These ‘swatting’ episodes provide a real good opportunity for someone to be hurt or killed.  They are not funny. They waste law enforcement time and resources.  And this kind of crap needs to be clamped down on and appropriately punished.

In the ‘swatting’ of Jim Pedersen, sources tell us two patrol cars – each with one officer — were dispatched to the Pedersen home.  We’re told that – as the officers were preparing to leave the Pedersen property – another false report against Pedersen alleging ongoing criminal activity came in.

Well, in the Pedersen matter, a temporary restraining order and three criminal charges have been filed against Pinehurst resident Justin David Bradford:
