Apparently, Chuck Edwards trying to steal some Kamala love from Thom

I swear.  We clearly have some of the worst human beings on the planet *representing* our fine state in Congress.  They do a bang-up job of lying to us during campaign time about how conservative they are, and then return to DC to continue doing the bidding of Leadership & Lobbyists. (*Rocking of the boat, by folks back home, I’m told, is frowned upon.*)

One of those human beings we discussed in the above paragraph is Chuck Edwards of the 11th congressional district.  He’s out west, where Helene did some of her worst damage.

Edwards is best known as Thom Tillis‘ hand-picked sock puppet.  A guy named Madison Cawthorn (R) used to represent the 11th.  Cawthorn dared to criticize Thommy and therefore earned some of that patented Tilli$$$ wrath.   Thommy reached back to his roots on Raleigh’s Jones Street and found a dopey state senator named Chuck Edwards.  Edwards was amenable to going to DC and doing exactly what Thommy told him to do.  With that, the effort to retaliate against wheelchair-bound Madison Cawthorn was on.

Thommy and his cronies took care of the campaign strategy and fundraising — which included a donation to a Tillis-controlled PAC  of $750,000 that had been embezzled from a bitcoin exchange.  All Edwards had to do was to fool the people of the district into believing that he actually understood what was going on around him.

Recently, Thom Tillis has become a hero to the drive-by media for slapping down his own party’s base over criticism of the Biden Administration’s Helene recovery efforts.  Even Kamala and her crew have shown Thom some love over this move.

Apparently, Edwards has decided he wants some Kamala love TOO:

Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-NC) is pushing back against a surge of conspiracy theories that have muddied disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene’s devastation in North Carolina.

Since Helene made landfall last week, a wave of misinformation has been pushed by internet users and members of Edward’s party, ranging from accusations the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was diverting disaster relief resources to migrant housing projects to conspiratorial claims, “they” (or the government) engineered the storm to seize land.

Edwards, representing a western North Carolina district hit hard by Helene, published a memo on Tuesday venting his frustration at the “uptick in untrustworthy sources trying to spark chaos by sharing hoaxes, conspiracy theories, and hearsay about hurricane response efforts across our mountains.”

Edwards ran through a list of eight conspiracy theories being pushed online about his district and a debunking of each, the first: “Hurricane Helene was NOT geoengineered by the government to seize and access lithium deposits in Chimney Rock.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and other right-wing influencers have perpetuated claims that the government controls the weather and is blocking private recovery efforts.

Edwards refuted the idea, citing Charles Konrad of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), who confirmed that “no one has the technology or ability to geoengineer a hurricane.” […]

I’m not saying that Helene was engineered by the government.  I have no proof.  But a simple Google search reveals reports from Northrop Grumann, the BBC and – *GASP* – CNN confirming the existence of government-run programs around the world involving man-made rain. (DO those count as “reputable sources,” Chucky?  Thom seems to find CNN to be quite credible.)

The BBC offered up a report on massive flooding in Dubai that occurred right after some of these controversial “cloud-seedings” had taken place.  (Of course, the “experts” were quick to come out with their “disinformation” defense.)

Here’s another report about the UAE’s “rain-making” and some mention of China’s highly-classified, very secretive work in that arena, as well.

Apparently, anything that questions the spin from government is  quickly, and without-question, labeled “disinformation. Just like with Helene.

Believe it or not, politicians and bureaucrats can lie with the best of them.

[…] The congressman also took aim at falsehoods “extremely damaging to the response efforts” by pushing back on disinformation about FEMA. Edwards dismantled claims that FEMA could seize property, was seizing supplies, running out of money or diverting funds to prioritize migrants shelter programs.

Arkansas senator Tom Cotton (R), arguably one of the smartest people on Capitol Hill, has gone public with his concerns about money being diverted from disaster relief toward helping illegal aliens.

MORE:

[…] Former President Donald Trump falsely claimed that FEMA is only offering $750 to survivors for disaster relief. Without mentioning Trump by name, Edwards clarified: “The $750 is an upfront, flexible payment to help cover essential items,” not the total amount of aid.[…]

How does that compare with what’s being handed out to all the illegal border-crossers, Chucky?  Do tell.  *For the sake of non-disinformation, of course.*

MORE:

[…] Edwards urged his constituents to think twice before trusting what they see and to be “fact-checking” what they read “with a reputable source.” The problem is, the source of many of these “myths” — as the GOP congressman called them — are elected representatives.[…]

So this dummy — and his political mentor (who took three decades, more than a dozen community colleges, and one online college to obtain his only college degree) — are honestly setting themselves up as the smartest people on the Earth when it comes to recovering from Helene?

Unfortunately, the Tillis cabal will have one more sycophant — lil’ Timmy Moore — after the election. So, is it the intention of the NCGOP to follow the lead of this cabal in unquestionably believing everything bureaucrats say — even when on-site eyes-and-ears are telling us different stories?

This is an effort by Uniparty bureaucrats to retake control of the narrative.  Tillis, Edwards and their ilk need to be reminded that we are still their bosses.  And their job description calls for being our eyes-and-ears in DC — not serving as puppets for bureaucrats with autocratic ambitions.
