See Thom holler. Hear Thom holler. (Holler, Thom. HOLLER.)
Those of us concerned about the cognitive state of our current president should also take a good hard look at what’s happening along those same lines with North Carolina’s senior US senator.
Last week, Sen. Thom Tillis wanted to pass a hurricane aid bill through unanimous consent.@RandPaul wanted to use pre-existing green energy spending to fund the aid, instead.
Tonight, North Carolina’s Sen. Tillis reiterated his opposition to aid for North Carolina if it is… pic.twitter.com/MRexdlKBNJ

Senator Paul thought it was improper to put the country deeper into debt by borrowing even more money for hurricane recovery aid. He proposed paying for the aid with money set aside for Ukraine and the solar panel crowd. Thom didn’t care for that idea. (They’re both side gigs for him.)
So, for a second day, Rand Paul (R-KY) took to the Senate floor to remind voters that he doesn’t oppose aid to western North Carolina. He only wants to redirect money currently being spent on waste to something important like helping western North Carolina.
If you watch the video above, you’ll see that Tillis finishes his rant. As senator Paul starts speaking, you can hear Tillis in the background yelling like a lunatic. The Senate’s presiding officer has to gavel Tillis down — demanding he be quiet and respect Paul — a number of times.
We’ve heard ad nauseam from Tillis about how certain conservative Republicans – such as Matt Gaetz, Madison Cawthorn, and Michele Morrow — are “embarrassing.”
I’d say Tillis’s performance on this video trumps just about anything those three — and any of his other targets — have said or done.
His captured-on-video tantrum kind of reminds me of those vagrants who used to hang out in metro stations when I lived in DC.
There you have it folks: the world’s *greatest* deliberative body.
NEVER TILLIS. Get him gone. Primary 2026.
Who do you suggest?
Dan Bishop is probably the best choice, but he needs a better campaign team than he had this year. He has a solid voting record in DC, pretty good name recognition, and an ability to raise money.
Dale Folwell would make a great senator, but his campaign skills are not as good as Bishop. He has a hard time raising money, and he is very reluctant to go after an opponent’s record, something that would be essential to defeating Tillis. For Folwell to beat Tillis, he would need a well funded independent campaign by someone like the Club for Growth or Senate Conservatives Fund exposing Tillis’ miserable record.
Just remember 2026 in coming!!
