Principals of controversial Pinehurst firm co-chairing fundraiser for Dan Bishop
The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars have launched a public relations campaign against what they call “claim sharks.”
Veterans Guardian, based in Pinehurst, is named by the groups as a so-called “claim shark”. A former client announced the filing of a class-action lawsuit against the firm earlier this year.
Congressman Dan Bishop (R) is seeking the GOP nomination for state attorney general. We’ve obtained a copy of the invitation for a November 27 fundraiser for Bishop in Pinehurst.
Scott Greenblatt is the CEO of Veterans Guardian. Bill Taylor is the COO of Veterans Guardian.
None of the information laid out here necessarily indicates any guilt or demonstrates any evidence of wrongdoing. But it all has some basis in consumer complaints.
One of the primary jobs of the state attorney general is to investigate consumer complaints. The optics might make things a little uncomfortable if a complaint is lodged against Veterans Guardian sometime down the road with the office of attorney general Bishop.
My experience with the VA involved going through legitimate assistance organizations like Disabled American Veterans. Bishop needs to BAIL on this pronto. NC Dems will be doing oppo research and being implicated with veterans scammers will destroy Bishop. Never mind the fact that Stein’s done nothing to nail these creeps.
Hmmm. Names listed on the invite are some of the most stable, concerned, and helpful people in the region and the state. They have records to prove their willingness to step up and do the right things for the community. Lets have another look maybe.
