#ncpol: McCrory, Burr lag in fundraising
North Carolina’s top two Republican incumbents are lagging behind their Democrat challengers in the fundraising department. Here’s the latest from the Senate race:
Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Deborah Ross narrowly out-raised incumbent Republican Richard Burr during the second quarter, though Burr continues to enjoy a financial advantage.
Ross raised $2.1 million in the quarter, according to her campaign. Burr raised about $1.6 million. It was the second quarter in a row where Ross out-raised Burr.
For the campaign, Ross, a former legislator from Raleigh, has raised about $4 million. Burr has raised $8.8 million in his bid for a third term.
Burr has nearly $7 million heading into the last four months of the campaign.[…]
And HERE is what we have on the governor’s race:
And, of course, the Democrat Governor’s Association had to get their licks in:
Well, not surprised by either of the cash on hand results. Burr will easily out raise Little Debbie. He has the GOPe on his side and I assume they will spend what it takes to keep him there.
As far as Ol’ Roy, I would expect him to be much farther ahead when you consider that he has been shirking his job and campaigning for 4+ years now. Pat has not had the luxury of being able to decide when he can and cannot do his job while Roy can pick and choose the days and cases he can work.
