#ncgop: (Psst. THIS is confidential. Sooooo — DON’T TELL ANYBODY.)

Once again, we’ve got mail:

*CONFIDENTIAL COMMUNICATIONS*
Office of NCGOP General Counsel
NCGOP Executive Committee –> Please review the attachments below prior to the Saturday Executive Committee meeting. Included is a letter from NCGOP General Counsel Tom Stark, a presentation detailing the charges against the five Haywood County respondents, the Saturday meeting notice, the Saturday draft agenda, the link to the Hall of Fame website, a recent local newspaper article (background information only), the Haywood County resolution, and the 11th District resolution.
This information is only for members of the NCGOP Executive Committee and will be presented as the “investigative report” in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order.
Again, THIS IS A SECRET.  Tell no one.  (And pay no attention to that sound of jackboots marching along a cobblestone street.)  Here is some background on the current state of the Haywood County Republican kerfluffle.  (We’ve covered it extensively here.)  Apparently, you’ve got some conservatives angry at the fact that a faction in the county party behaves more like Democrats.  So, these dissidents are being beaten down in a fashion that would make Mao, Papa Joe, and Fidel beam with pride.
Ronald Reagan put together a winning coalition in 1980 and 1984 by embracing ALL elements of the party.  So did Donald Trump in 2016.  The NCGOPe / GOPe RINO strategy appears to be beat down anyone who dares to look askance at youBe meaner to your own than you are to the Democrats.
I actually had a prominent Republican tell me they were threatened with party disloyalty charges ONCE for daring to share a post from my site on their personal Facebook page.

Here’s the letter
from the party lawyer.  Here’s’ the presentation on the “charges.”    (Some of you may remember Paul Yeager as one of the leading defenders of Hasan Harnett during the coup against his chairmanship.)
Here is the meeting notice.
I wonder WHO is next?
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
