Don’t get me wrong. The murderous rampage in Wisconsin was absolutely disgusting and evil and depraved. Thank goodness the scum culprit was killed so we don’t have to spend money, or go through further emotional turmoil, trying him and jailing him.
As the Fayetteville Observer demonstrates, we have ANOTHER case — as in Aurora — where people recognized a person’s bizarre, frightening behavior and did next to nothing.
Leftists and their friends in the mainstream media will try to tell us this case shows how troubled America and its society is. * We can fix it all by banning guns and stepping up the police state. *
I saw something in one news article about this case that really chafed me:
Federal investigators had “looked at” Sikh temple gunman Wade Michael Page more than once because of his associations with right-wing extremists and the possibility that he was providing funding to a domestic terrorist group, but law enforcement officials at the time determined there was not enough evidence of a crime to open an investigation, a senior U.S. law enforcement official said. Right-wing, huh? Swastika-hugging neo-Nazi skinheads are right-wing? Isn’t that nice — tying this dirtbag and his ilk to conservatives, Republicans, National Review and all of those folks in the Tea Party.
I read a great book a few years ago by National Review Online editor Jonah Goldberg called “Liberal Fascism.” Goldberg’s book provides a great historical perspective on fascism and its rise in the world.
Goldberg found that — when you get down to brass tacks — there is barely a dime’s worth of difference between communists and fascists. (After all, the Nazis are The National Socialists Workers Party. Sounds like a bunch of Republicans, huh?)
Look at Hitler and Stalin during World War II. Both men persecuted and murdered Jews. Both favored an economic system that puts the state front and center. (In fact, Stalin’s successors — for years — continued harrassing and terrorizing Jews.)
The competition between fascists and communists has never really been ideological. It’s a plain old grudge rivalry — a turf war.
This guy in Wisconsin, and his cohorts, are NOT right-wing. They are radicals, terrorists and criminals. This shooter made himself and his kind JUST as bad as the “allah akbar”-screaming car-bombing, plane-hijacking loons in The Middle East.
