Yet ANOTHER sellout in the US Senate ?
Donald Trump and Julius Caesar have at least one thing in common. They both know what it’s like to get stabbed in the back repeatedly by senators.
I’m old enough to remember weasels like Thom Tillis going on TV to badmouth Trump’s border wall, as well as preaching the gospel of aisle-crossing on things like amnesty and gun control. Mitch McConnell — who shares with Joe Biden the title of Most Decrepit in DC — readily encouraged that kind of thing during Trump 1.0. Will we see an encore performance during Trump 2.0?
McConnell is backing out of the party leader role in the Senate. There are three leading contenders battling to replace him: Rick Scott of Florida, John Thune of South Dakota, and John Cornyn of Texas.
Of the three, Scott is the clearest Trump ally. Cornyn has collaborated with Tillis & co. on such legislative gems as gun control and amnesty for illegals. Thune has spent most of his career following McConnell around like a puppy. He also has been known to tweet out *gems* like this:
Anyway — it appears that the GOPers in the US Senate have been counting noses recently for their next leadership vote. (It is good to see that the newly-elected folks are included.). Here’s how the count reportedly goes:
SO, we have Tillis — being the good McConnell soldier he’s always been — sticking with Thune. And we have Ted Budd going with John Cornyn. These guys are something. They go out on the campaign trail praising Trump and getting all kinds of concessions, endorsements and the like from him. Then they get back to Washington and stab him in the back. Trump HAS a mandate, folks. There’s a mission afoot to fix the country. There is no time for the stroking of 100 egos.
Cigar Tillis gotta run in 2026..no denying that.
He will be a fool to vote that way; but we know the fool he is.
Good news is, grassroots can begin NOW (and should for the last 6Y of experience) defeating him.
My guess he votes rino and isn’t running in 2026. I believe he knows he can’t win, never obtaining 50% of the votes in any election.
With last Tues’ vote, I am now convinced the majority of Americans have made the turn; no more sellouts, no more rinos, no more $$$-driven, $$-greedy politicians. It’s about AMERICA and it’s about We The People for a change.
I expect Tillis to sell us out, but Budd? Cornyn is a weasel who has been bad on gun control and immigration. So much so that he was booed by the Texas state Republican convention. When his own state party grassroots cannot stand him, why the heck is Budd supporting him. I hope whoever is counting noses simply has that one wrong.
NEVER TILLIS. Tillis is an Undocumented Democrat and needs to GO.
The Big Question is: WHO can run a well financed primary challenge to Tillis as well as a well-financed general election campaign against the Democrat who will seek that seat in 2026 (probably Cooper)?
Dan Bishop would be great, but he will need better campaign staff and consultants than he had this time. Second choice would be Dale Folwell, and again, he needs competent professional campaign staff. Bishop used a range of fundraising consultants and brought in a decent sized warchest. Folwell, however, needs a lot of improvement in that department. Either would make a great senator.
It would not surprise me for Bishop to take a role in the Trump administration, and that would give him some visibility to run for Senate. Folwell is also someone I hope that Trump finds a position for.
The other rumor that has been out there has been about Tillis calling it quits and Phony Phil Berger gearing up to run for that seat. As bad as TIllis is, Berger might actually be worse.
Robinson had no $$ and no staff, nor competence and it showed. Stein walked in and the ads that could have been blasted were there for the taking. He’s still on social media daily, as if he’s relevant!
Folwell and/or Bishop did not run effective campaigns at all. IF they cannot run better than the past election, someone else needs to position themselves. That JJ is our AG is disgusting and sickening…but, MR gave them all they needed to tie him to Bishop.
No Tillis. No berger….
We the People will not stand for anymore Tillis and We the People will not stand for any uniparty deep stater. It is time that WE THE PEOPLE look to our local leaders and find the one beacon of light who can have the fire to stand up against the career politicians and government leeches.
Gotta be some Jesse Helmses somewhere in this state. I was encouraged the 20’s and 30’s overwhelming voted conservative, republican or anti-dem this election nationwide.
Are some of those in NC?
JD Vance for senate leader! Break barriers! If not, Rick Scott all the way. Let us be unburdened, by the last 3 years and 10 months. Trumpism took effect within 24 hours of election being called. May Freedom Ring and God Bless our President Elect, Donald J Trump, Vice President Elect JD Vance and our country.
