The N&O: N.C. conservatives lust for Muslim blood

Yep.  The newspaper founded as a propaganda rag for the Reconstruction-era KKK is out there accusing other people of being murderous racists:

The nation’s largest Muslim civil rights group is calling for the FBI to look into death threats made against the Muslim community at a meeting of conservative activists in Kernersville on Thursday.

“My only recommendation is to start killing the hell out of them,” one participant said, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, based in Washington, D.C. “I’m ready to start taking people out.”

The meeting at a restaurant included a presentation on “a supposed Muslim plot to conquer the United States,” the council said, citing local media reports of the meeting.

“Shed some blood, too,” the same participant said in response to the presenter’s call to “shed some light” on the issue, according to the council.
First of all, to put this in perspective, the article features a photo of FIVE PEOPLE sitting around a table.  *Second of all, don’t you love the abundant use of partial quotes?  Plenty of opportunity there to take people out of context, huh?*
Wait.  There’s MORE:

The meeting included Tea Party members, patriot groups and other conservative activists, the Triad City Beat alternative newspaper reported.

For those who don’t know, Triad City Beat is a leftist “alt-weekly” paper given away on the streets at no charge.  MORE:

Kernersville is in Forsyth County, about 90 miles northeast of Charlotte.

In response to the reported call to kill Muslims, according to CAIR, a member of the hate group ACT for America said, “I can understand that. But we’re not there yet.”

HATE group?  (I don’t see any quotes around that.) If you go to ACT’s website, you see a lot of talk about educating people on radical Islam.  Nothing violent.  Nothing Klan or Nation of Islam-like.    The “hate” designation is there thanks to the crackpots at the Southern Poverty Law Center.  These guys thrive and raise money by scaring the crap out of people about the alleged resurgence of the Klan and that ilk.

SPLC once listed the Family Research Council as a “hate group”.  The FRC is a lobbying group of evangelical Christians that lobby government bodies on family values issues.  (Rev. Mark Harris of Charlotte is good buddies with FRC president Tony Perkins.)  A few years back, a nutcase Obama voter went on a shooting rampage inside the FRC’s Washington offices — killing a security guard.  The perp claimed he was motivated by the fact the SPLC had labeled the FRC as a ‘hate group’ against gays.

[…] In reaction to the threats made at the meeting, CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said: “Calls to violence against members of any minority group warrant a criminal investigation by state law enforcement authorities and the FBI. We call on President Trump to repudiate the growing bigotry in our nation targeting Muslims, Hispanics, immigrants, refugees and other minority groups.”

He said the council has noted an “unprecedented spike” in hate rhetoric and bias-motivated incidents targeting American Muslims and other minorities since the presidential election.

There’s also a real honesty problem in labeling CAIR as simply ”the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights group.”  Discover the Networks, a website run by conservative activist (and former radical liberal bomb-thrower) David Horowitz, says its more apt to describe CAIR as a media manipulator and intimidator, and a mouthpiece and enabler for radical Islam and terrorism with visions of remaking the United States with a sharia flavor.
