Seriously, now. WHO is “too extreme for North Carolina”?

Something called “North Carolina Families First” (NCFF) is firing off mailers to state voters from Murphy to Manteo lumping the GOP’s Department of Public Instruction candidate Michele Morrow together with beleaguered GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson. The mailer includes a photo portraying Morrow and Robinson as though they are a happy couple on their honeymoon.

There are footnotes on the mailers which identify sources for this late-in-the-game attack on Morrow and Robinson.  The first footnote IDs, of all groups, Media Matters for Americawhich is currently being sued by X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk.    MM for A has developed quite a reputation for hardline, in-your-face attacks on conservatives and Republicans.   Other *sources* for the content in the attack mailers include NC Newsline (a production of notorious left-wing mouthpieces Chris Fitzsimon and Rob Schofield — the “Bert and Ernie” of NC politics), and a left-wing crap website called “NC Voices.”  (Oh, yeah. Usual suspects ABC11, The Charlotte Observer, and CNN are also there.)

Anyone in the political know is aware that — prior to CNN dropping its big bomb into our gubernatorial race — Mark Robinson was doing his darnedest to be rude to Michele Morrow.   He often bent over backwards to disparage her as well as the position she is seeking.  At political rallies and meetings, he would name the entire Republican ticket for the assembled voters — often purposefully excluding Morrow’s name.  *So, there is hardly a team dynamic going on here.*

So, who exactly is NC Families First?  A website called “Mapping The Left” gives us a pretty good idea:

[…] In 2014 the Center for Public Integrity described this way:

“A group that is largely funded by the from the left-leaning America Votes group.”
They included in North Carolina Families First is a 527 SuperPac and is an affiliate of NC Citizens for Protecting our Schools. a Washington, D.C.-based National Education Association teachers’ union and a super PAC. According to IRS forms, NCCPOS gave North Carolina Families First $3,075,000 between May 2014 and April 2016. According to IRS 990 forms, NCCPOS reported that they had given N.C. Families First grants in a two year period to “Fund education issues.”

In all, NC Families First spent over $2,670,000 targeting Republican members of the NC General Assembly in 2016, with almost half of it going towards opposing Supreme Court Justice Bob Edmunds.

The Center for Public Integrity reported that in 2016; “The liberal super PAC N.C. Families First spent over $1.7 million opposing Edmunds*. That PAC received funding from the Democratic Governors Association as well as three shadowy nonprofits — N.C. Citizens for Protecting Our Schools, Make N.C. First and Real Facts N.C. — that aren’t required to disclose their donors.”

In 2016, Republican incumbent, Bob Edmunds, was running for re-election to the North Carolina Supreme Court and lost.

The News and observer in July 2016 reported that with four months left before the election, N.C. Families First had already spent $558,000 on advertising in the race for Governor. The N&O reported that Families First’s major donors were – Democratic Governors Association, North Carolina Citizens for Protecting Our Schools, which is funded by the National Education Association.[…]

So,  this group that is disseminating these blistering attacks on Michele Morrow is basically a front for the National Education Association (NEA) – which is a great friend to liberal Democrats and no friend at all to conservatives and /or Republicans.  NC Families First has gone after Republican legislators and Republican members of the state Supreme Court.  It sounds like Michele Morrow has the right kind of enemies.

Much of Morrow’s campaign platform has focused on a move away from far-left political indoctrination and a return to good, old-fashioned reading, writing and arithmetic.  You know, the curriculum that did a pretty good job educating the folks who built this country.

Morrow also talks extensively about stepping up the security of our public school facilities.  This story – featuring a Wake County public alternative school — appears to make her point on security for her. So does this one from Forsyth County.

Meanwhile, Democrat Mo Green has admitted that he had to get help from cronies to bend the rules so he could be hired as a school superintendent.  Also, while he headed the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, he oversaw the funding of groups that sought the defunding of police and the removal of school resource officers.  He also oversaw and permitted the funding of groups that rioted in public places and tore down statues and other public property. (But Morrow is the *extremist.*)

Folks, these people at NC Families First and their supporters are the same people with those pretentious “Vote for Decency” flags and yard signs in front of their homes.  If slanderous crap like what’s in these mailers counts as *decency* then I say: BRING ON THE INDECENCY !!!
