‘Occupy Elaine’ has a legal defense fund
If you’re setting up a legal defense fund, that’s a sure sign things aren’t going well at the office.
The honorables on Jones Street voted to move forward on impeachment proceedings against secretary of state Elaine Marshall before they last blew out of town. The Dems screamed holy hell, as did SOME of the GOPe. But it happened.
I sure thought it was going to go away quietly as the ethics complaints against David Lewis did. But, apparently not.
Paperwork is on file at the state board of elections for a “Elaine Marshall Defense Fund.” According to that paperwork, it’s being managed by Raleigh-area consultant Tiffany Reynolds-Richardson.
Let’s hope she has to use it. Oh, and that the impeachment is very successful.
Try not to get your hopes up, it takes 2/3 of the Senate to remove someone from office and I’m not at all sure we’re not going to lose that supermajority in the very near future. Then the GOPe will move to impeach knowing they don’t have the votes and then they’ll tell us they tried.
Tiffany Reynolds Richardson worked as the state Democrat party’s fundraiser and she was also the campaign manager for Secretary of State Elaine Marshall.
