NC’s new AG ignores the law to attack President Trump
Elections do have consequences. Unfortunately, we’ve elected three consecutive attorneys general who thumbed their noses at the state constitution. Two of them have gone on to bigger things while one is trying to do so.
All three of them — Roy Cooper, Josh Stein, and Jeff Jackson — interpreted their success at the polls as more of a blessing of their agendas than what it really was: getting repeatedly blessed with weak candidates and campaign challenges from the NCGOP.
Here’s the Department of Justice’s website (as of January 21, 2025). Notice anything unusual?
(*Wow. These Chapel Hill-bred beta males really are all starting to look alike!*)
This terrible trio has had the nasty habit of using the state-funded Department of Justice to fight against conservative policies in court — here at home or in other states.
Senate Bill 382, the so-called *Disaster Relief Bill* got passed in the General Assembly over lame-duck Roy Cooper‘s veto. The legislation specifically forbade the elected AG from using the DOJ to go off on self-serving political crusades or to intervene in other people’s political fights unrelated to on-going state business.
*Silly stuff* like legislation passed on Jones Street over the governor’s veto isn’t going to stop the alleged *People’s lawyer.*
Jackson and his DOJ have filed suit in a federal court in Massachusetts to challenge President Trump’s plans to abolish birthright citizenship.
I didn’t ask for this. And Jackson IS supposedly my lawyer. Jackson’s job is to defend our state from legal assaults. Not to weaponize the law in favor of his left-wing comrades and donors.
So, it looks like we’re getting another four years of our lawyer thumbing his nose at us — the payers of his bills. Twenty-eight years (16 for Cooper, 8 for Stein, 4 for Jackson) of this ought to be enough.
Jeff Jackson is clearly thumbing his nose at state law. The big question out there is THIS: Will the legislators tuck their tails and go back to hiring private counsel like they did under Stein and Cooper? Or will they teach this *purty-mouf* newcomer to the AG’s office the importance of following the law?
Ok, NCGOP….what now?
And FTR, Tillis came out publicly AGAINST Trump’s pardons.
Let’s ROLL finding a CONSERVATIVE. A TRUE , proven America First.
