Monkey Business SPECIAL REPORT: NCGOP mailer omits GOP opponents of Berger’s casinos

So, are Phil Berger’s personal agenda items and pet projects NOW priority-one for the North Carolina Republican Party?  It’s really beginning to look like it.

We told you about a “conservative voter guide” sent out to Rockingham County voters by The North Carolina Republican Party.  The problem?  The “voter guide” included only the names of Donald Trump and a select number of local candidates known to be part of the Berger political machine.  No Republican Council of State candidates.

There are actually THREE seats up on the Rockingham County Board of Commissioners.  Republican Jeff Kallam — the top vote-getter in the primary — is conveniently left off this “conservative voter guide.”

Kallam’s apparent *offenses against conservatism* have been (1) questioning a revaluation that jacked up property taxes, (2) vocally opposing Phil Berger‘s casino deal for Rockingham and other counties, and (3) failing to adequately kiss up to Kevin Berger and his dad Phil.

There are also two Republicans mounting write-in candidates against pro-casino commissioners Berger and Richardson.  They are Cyndy Hayworth and Lynn Knight.

So, state Republican Party money is being used to damage the campaigns of Republican candidates on Rockingham County’s November ballot.  It appears that the personal interests of the Berger family are the NCGOP’s new platform.

Be careful about getting in Phil’s way.  Some of that Hillsborough Street $$$ could be re-directed your way to cause a little damage for you and your friends and neighbors at election time.
