‘Joe-Biden-Super-Fan’ rages against Trump, legislators, property owners, realtors AND Taylortown

It used to be frowned upon for newcomers (i.e., Myles Larsen) to seek elected office in Pinehurst.   My, how things change.

We elected a guy to the village council who had registered to vote here only a year before he filed. Two years later, the same yo-yo got elected mayor. The same political clique that gave us a mayor who looks like an extra in a Scorsese film and sounds like Burgess Meredith portraying ‘The Penguin’ is trying to outdo itself this year.

Kevin Fitzpatrick is a former DC lobbyist who moved here four years ago. He embraced his neighborhood HOA, became its president, and immediately won over the hearts of the Pizzella cocktail clique — who we all know want to turn Pinehurst into ONE HUGE HOA.

Fitzpatrick is winning over these Old Town snobs with a strategy that would be political suicide just about anywhere else in Moore County.  He’s praised Joe Biden and trashed Donald Trump on social media.

Pinehurst already has a rocky relationship with the Moore County commissioners, state legislators, and most state agencies.  Municipal leaders in North Carolina need these kinds of relationships to get things done for their residents.

With good reason, many folks on the outside view Pinehurst as a hotbed of nasty, vile transplanted Yankees who want to lord over people, who think they know everything and who are ready to take over everything.

SO, what does Fitzpatrick — the Pizella clique’s choice – do?   He launches an attack on all those aforementioned folks AND realtors —who make up about ten percent of Moore County’s population and are well-represented within the village limits.

Question: Is Fitzpatrick including THIS realtor as part of the realtors he plans to fight?

Oh, and the Western Connector he gripes about?  That is the smartest solution out there to clear up the traffic on NC 5.    Pizzella, Fitzgerald and the gang are not interested in doing anything to make life more pleasant or less complicated. They’re going to fight fixing the traffic circle tooth-and-nail, too.   They want us as miserable as they are.

Also, it appears you can never take the DC out of the lobbyist.  Check out the phone number listed on Fitzpatrick’s campaign report as its official contact number.

This lying about rental properties / STRs needs to stop.  There are 537 of these properties in Pinehurst.  There are about 18,000 residents of Pinehurst.  If you guesstimate two to a house, that makes roughly 9000 dwellings.  That  —  537 out of 9000 — is hardly an overrun or an invasion.  It’s bull$h!t whipped up to scare people to death and elevate losers and con artists into positions of power.  The peddlers of that nonsense are realizing they can’t ride that crap much further, so they’re moving on to scare the hell out of people about the traffic circle.

In 2023, the state estimated 50,000 cars a day moving through the Pinehurst traffic circle.  That number is expected to nearly double by 2050.  And the screaming meemies who worship ‘Parachute Pat’ and his ilk are demanding that not a single inch of asphalt be touched. *Talk about leadership.*

Fitzpatrick has launched an attack on state legislators for trying to get rid of the concept of extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).  ETJs allow bad actors with influence at city hall to lord over and terrorize landowners who live outside of town. There’s probably a reason these people didn’t ask to be annexed into town.

ETJ fans claim they are merely trying to protect in-town residents from poor decisions by the county.  However, Moore County’s planning infrastructure has grown and improved dramatically over the last decade.  The overdevelopment is actually happening within the county’s various municipalities. (Another Pizzella clique endorsee, Jeramy Hooper, ran the Pinehurst planning board for three years while a lot of this overdevelopment happened.)

Village of Pinehurst streets are seriously lacking in stormwater drainage — a fact clearly evident in our most recent flooding episode.

And bizarrely enough, Fitzpatrick launches an attack on our next-door neighbor Taylortownwho, instead of harassing a hotel developer Pinehurst-style, decided to work within the law and actually be fair.

Has somebody broken the news to Kevin the Pinehurst Village Council has nothing at all to do with what happens in Taylortown?

Fitzpatrick appeared angry that these folks allowed a hotel to be built.  His backers have already implemented their water-torture of short-term rental property owners.

We’ve already shared with you how important tourism is to the local economy.  The Pizzella-Fitzpatrick-Strickland mob has made doing business in Pinehurst way too much of a hassle. (Most would rather set up shop right across the village limits lines than to deal with the Pizzella loons.)

Could they really be about simply snuffing out the last bit of economy that we have in-town?  People want to come here to play golf.  They need places to stay — without worrying about navigating packs of screaming geriatric loons camped out at the end of the driveway.

Pinehurst is a resort community.  Moving here, and then b!tching about tourists, is the height of lunacy.  Some of the Pizzella loons believe we’re not a resort, but merely a retirement community comparable to The Villages in Florida. (If they continue forcing us to keep having to drive out of town to get groceries and other staples to meet that end, so be it.)

There are a lot of folks in-town who don’t pay attention to the hijinks at village hall, and rarely show up for local government meetings or local elections.  This allows extremists like the Old Town / Pizzella clique an opportunity to take over and rain hell upon the rest of us.

They are chipping away at our property rights. They are discouraging nearly all forms of economic development.  They fight for ordinances that keep children out of sight and out of mind. They’re into having police spy on the light and sound levels at your property.

Meanwhile, golf tourism and FirstHealth are drawing more people to our community than ever before.  Traffic jams are clogging up our roads – but these geriatric out-of-touch loons want to keep screaming about rental property owners.

Pizzella, Farrell, Ficklin, Kevin Fitzpatrick and Taylor are all hazardous to you and your family’s economic health, and the economic health of the community.  They need to be seriously reined in or retired before they do any permanent damage.
