Apologize when Laura Leslie DOES.

Our lazy, no-account, shiftless, irresponsible driveby media has apparently decided that their modus operandi — at least until Democrats OWN EVERYTHING — is to troll Republican social media accounts to find things that can be appropriately twisted to make the account-holder appear sufficiently BIGOTED.   Several Republicans have fallen victim to these tactics, and every one of them — except Mike Speciale — has tucked tail and apologized like a whipped puppy. 

The latest victim is — by coincidence, I’m sure — one of our favorite targets, the bumbling conniving Dallas Woodhouse. He had two key assignments for campaign 2016 — get Pat McCrory and Robert Edmunds reelected — and blew both of them in spectacular fashion.  Despite that, state Republican leadership appears ready to rehire Woodhouse to another term as state party executive director.

Here’s the hit on Woodhouse today: 

A North Carolina Republican Party leader apologized after retweeting an article from a conservative blog that calls transgender students sexual perverts and mentally ill.

“Justice Department Kills Obama’s Pervs-In-The-Girls-Bathroom Rule,” reads the headline on the article on Red State.

Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of the N.C. GOP, didn’t include a personal comment when he retweeted the article on Saturday afternoon.

“Last May, the Obama administration carried out a direct assault on Western civilization,” the article starts. “In a single directive, issued without the benefit of Congressional input or even an attempt to adhere to rule-making procedure under the Administrative Procedure Act, the Obama administration decreed that the mentally ill and sexual perverts who claim to be mentally ill had to be allowed to use the restrooms and school locker rooms of their preference without regards to the concerns of anyone else.”

Late Saturday, Woodhouse said he removed the post from his Twitter feed.

“I should not have re-tweeted this article,” he said. “I did not read it close enough and I am sorry.”

Replies on Twitter to Woodhouse’s apology were mixed.

“You didn’t read the ‘headline’ closely?” one person posted.

“You read it closely,” tweeted another. “You took it down bcs u got called out 4 it. Another exp of a homophobic politician.”

Others tweeted support for Woodhouse.

“You did nothing wrong stay strong!!!” one said.

While this driveby genius was transcribing this from Twitter, the state employee health and retirement plans
slipped deeper into the red, and the state crime lab failed a whole bunch more crime victims.  MORE: 

Another notable North Carolinian used similar language in commenting on whether to allow people who are transgender to use the bathroom of their gender identity.

After N.C. legislators failed to repeal House Bill 2 in December, evangelist Franklin Graham tweeted his thanks for N.C. Lt. Gov. Dan Forest and legislators “protecting women and children from pedophiles and sexual perverts.”

Okay, NOW you’re really stretching.  First of all, Franklin Graham and Dallas Woodhouse are nowhere near the same category of individual.  Franklin Graham is a selfless humanitarian whose charity has fed, clothed and medically-treated millions of poor people around the globe.  Dallas is a goober who has a TV gig with his sketchy brother on MSNBC. (Where is that investigation of Brad Woodhouse and the whole beating up old people at Trump rallies thing, anyway?) 

A “pervert” is anyone who significantly deviates from a societal norm.  You can insist the sky is mauve-colored all you want, but that doesn’t make it so. 

It really is stunning that we have reached a stage where our allegedly-mainstream media is working overtime to stomp out freedoms contained in The First Amendment.  Say something that contradicts the agenda of the radical left, and you , sir, are a B-I-G-O-T.  

Speaking of sirs, how does all of this wash with the curious case of one Laura Leslie, who is STILL employed by WRAL as a political reporter?  Miz Leslie achieved national notoriety when she blamed, via Facebook, the mass murder at an Orlando gay nightclub on Christians.  (Never mind it was a radical Muslim nut-job named Omar, whose dad LOVED Hillary Clinton, who did the deed.)

Sooooooo — she smeared the great majority of WRAL’s dwindling viewer base and managed to (1) keep her job, and (2) avoid apologizing.  Dallas must apologize.  Mike Causey must apologize.  But WRAL’s lumpy in-house lesbian DOES NOT. 

Laura also opined on Facebook that “Crazy MFers with guns … are our enemy.”   She also launched into attacks on Bernie Sanders for hindering Hillary Clinton, and pondered suing “Fox News for making [her] dumber.”      She regularly quotes vile, nasty stuff from the liberal web site Wonkette on her social media accounts.  No apology.  No threat to her job. Nade. 

So, we’ve got a clear case of bigotry against mainstream, normal people here on display by a marquee on-air performer for WRAL.  And yet she is not made to apologize.  She is not punished.  

Here’s a bit of advice for the next Republican who gets targeted in the driveby social media dragnet.  Tell them you’ll apologize as soon as Laura Leslie does.  Princess Lumpy will never do it.  So, you’ll be off the hook.
