2020 Polling. Governor AND Senate. (Yay.)
The Morning Consult, a DC-based bunch, has released their latest numbers tracking the popularity of all 50 governors and all 100 senators.
Here’s what they have on Roy Cooper:
What it all means:
As of the fourth quarter of 2019, Cooper’s popularity number was 15 points higher than his unpopularity number AMONG ALL VOTERS (47-32). His popularity was 49 points higher than his unpopularity AMONG DEMOCRATS.
Among JUST REPUBLICANS, Cooper’s unpopularity was 17 points higher than his popularity number. AMONG INDEPENDENTS, Cooper’s popularity was 11 points higher than his unpopularity number.
Now, let’s look at what they have on Tillis:
What it means:
AMONG ALL VOTERS, Tillis’s disapproval number is 2 points higher than his approval number. (37-34. Math Alert for The MC: 37-34 equals THREE. NOT TWO. )
AMONG JUST DEMOCRATS, Tillis’s disapproval number is 31 points higher than his approval number. AMONG JUST REPUBLICANS, his approval number is 35 points higher than his disapproval.
AMONG JUST INDEPENDENTS, ol’ Thom’s disapproval number is 9 points higher than his approval.
It’s too bad Tillis is probably our only choice after the primary. Tucker would have been better.
