That Svengali of campaign finance is convinced they’re out to get him:
What’s he talking about? WHO is he talking about? He’s talking about 
Charlene High, his first-ever GOP challenger for his House seat. (Kelly himself got elected in 2012 by challenging a sitting GOP legislator.)
Bashing her for knocking on doors? Kelly has never done that? No one in the House GOP caucus has ever done that?
Also, painting Ms.High as an undercover leftist? Her bio on her campaign web site says — among other things — she’s been serving as a “volunteer chaplain” with the Billy Graham organization’s disaster relief operation. (*What a commie.*)
Recently voting in “liberal primaries”? I spoke with a source in the High campaign who explained the candidate has spent most of her time and energy in her life on her church-related activities, and next-to-nothing on politics. This source confirmed that Ms. High – like so many in her family over the years — was a registered Democrat.
The source said High was angered by the actions of the Left and the Democrat Party over HB2. That whole episode encouraged her to cross the aisle and become a Republican. Said my source:
“The whole HB2 thing was a shock to her system. She began reevaluating things and decided she had little in common with folks in her party. She started looking more and more into what was going on in Raleigh and DC and decided she wanted to put herself out there to make a difference.”
The late Jesse Helms was a Democrat for decades. (He got elected to the Raleigh City Council as a Democrat.) Current GOP chairman Robin Hayes was a Democrat for decades before being talked into switching parties by then-congressman Jim Martin. I’d be willing to bet that are some people sitting in the House GOP Caucus right now with Mr. Hastings who were once Democrats and voting in Democrat primaries.
Kelly Hastings has been a loyal soldier for Tim Moore, Jason Saine, Nelson 
Dollar and David Lewis since he’s been in Raleigh. He’s been a loyal soldier for the solar goons. Kelly has taken a walk when his vote was needed on a number of conservative votes. He’s also been quite suspect with his personal campaign finances in a manner quite similar to the one that landed Fletcher Hartsell in a whole lot of legal hot water.

HB2 seems to be the difference between High and Hastings, and it is Hastings who is the flaming liberal on that. High clearly supports bathroom privacy and it was her reason for switching to the GOP. Hastings was one of those betrayers who voted to repeal it.
Hastings is also all-in with another corrupt liberal bunch – the solar goons. He votes to give them all the big government goodies he can, even though expanding solar and wind in NC will jack up the electric rates for consumers.
If Happy Hastings wants to see a liberal, he should look in the nearest mirror.
Hastings is one of the least bright legislators. And that is saying something. He is easily manipulated as he has no foundational values. I have no clue if High is a leftist plant but I doubt the Dems would waste time on Hastings as he is likely to vote with them.
From Hastings miserable record, he is more likely to be the leftist plant. He primaried a more conservative incumbent a few elections back.
To equate High with Sen Helms is big stretch. I will bet she is a flaming lib and her votes will be in line with what Bully Barber would want.
If you haven’t noticed North Carolina has been circling the toilet bowl for a long time. The establishment that controls the working parts is much more powerful that any of our legislators. They,the legislators, just reflect the establishment demands.
Tell me who is standing in the wings to replace the likes of Burr,Tiilison,Cooper or any of our weak legislators that would make a substantial improvement. They don’t exist and are not electable.
Now why in the world would someone who switched to Republican over support of the bathroom privacy / HB2 issue ever listen to tubby toilet boy Bully Barber? They are on opposite sides of the major issue that got her into active politics. It is Kelly Hastings who laid down for Barber when he voted to repeal HB2.
To pull the wool over your eyes. If you think she is the answer to NC’s problems you must be smoking something illegal.
It is Kelly Hastings who voted to repeal HB2 and allow local governments to pass anti-Christian local ordinances starting in 2020, and Kelly Hastings who is in the hip pocket of the corrupt solar goons who push Obama’s green energy legacy.
Anyone who would vote for Kelly Hastings in a GOP primary must be smoking something illegal.
He will easily win.
Any conservative Christian voter would have to be nuts to vote for Hastings after his vote for HB142.
Any electric consumer would have to be nuts to vote for Hastings due to his being in the hip pocket of the green energy bandits who want to raise our consumer electric rates to line their own pockets:

Kelly is simply “a stooge” for Tiny Tim… and not even Tim’s #1 or #2 “stooge”… just “a stooge”.
