Tami Fitzgerald, $ell-out.
It’s becoming more and more clear that EVERYONE inside that Raleigh beltline
has a price.
Tami Fitzgerald has spent a lot of capital to position herself as the Fairy godmother of family values. She was out front on the 2012 marriage amendment to the state constitution. She was also out front in the fight to pass, and protect HB2. Fitzgerald, despite her role as a lobbyist (and senator Chad Barefoot’s mother in law), had built up all kinds of anti-establishment street cred.
All of that has gone up in smoke thanks to a rather mealy-mouthed, less-than-honest email sent out in her name today:

I want to commend to you Robin Hayes as our NCGOP Chairman. Robin deserves our praise and our votes for re-election as Chairman.
As a former Finance Director for the NCGOP, I realize that the Party’s Chairman’s main
focus and purpose is to raise money for the Party. Without raising money, the activities of the Party cannot continue, and the candidates supported by the Party cannot be elected.[…]
WHERE, pray tell, did Jim Womack pledge not to raise money? If you ask the people in Lee County, he’s done one hell of a job of revitalizing the local GOP in a Democrat stronghold.

Let’s take on her exaggerations, mistruths, and utter bullcrap one at a time. First, FEC records show that Hasan Harnett — deposed in a coup and replaced by Hayes last year — actually raised more money than Hayes did.
Second, adept and experienced and “good at it”? FEC records show Hayes was outperformed by Claude Pope, Linda Daves AND Hasan Harnett. We’ve also learned that a lot of his fundraising, um, “prowess” comes thanks to his 
mama’s FAT bank account. (And it also helped that Hayes’s co-conspirators on Jones Street sabotaged Harnett by pulling their funds out of party accounts just prior to the coup. Of course, they put the money back IN after Robin was installed by the coup plotters. What a fundraising bonanza!)

In addition, the Party Chair should be someone who is level-headed and can coalesce the different factions of party activists. Robin is exactly the right leader to do just that, and he has already demonstrated his skill and wisdom in leading a Party that is diverse and sometimes contentious. Seriously, Tami? Did you miss this video from Tampa in 2012? Robin did his best LBJ impression in bullying his very own delegates. And wisdom ???? (Have you actually listened to the man TALK?)
And LEADING THE PARTY? I’ve seen more Robin Hayes in the last few weeks than I’ve seen the whole year. NCGOP has been sending out Dallas to counter Wayne Goodwin at public forums. (But Robin has been getting his jet fuel paid for.) The driveby media has, on occasion, referred to Dallas as the party chairman.

The marriage amendment had a 70 percent approval rating, and passed by about that much. How hard did you honestly have to work to sell it?
And while Tami was out there urging everyone to stand firm on HB2, Hayes and Woodhouse were out there urging legislators to water the bill down.
And while Hayes was in Congress, he decided to align himself with The Ripon Society — a liberal group devoted to, among other things, purging the Republican Party of “The Religious Right.”
And let’s not forget Hayes’s passion for Lysol. I wonder if THAT is an example of the shared values Tami trumpets in her email.
Jim Womack has solid backing within the religious conservative community, and that has the NCGOPe running scared. See all of the nasty attacks on Jim’s wife, and stuff like Tami’s dishonest email as evidence.
It’s amazing how you can make all kinds of noise about family / traditional values, but then turn around and throw your support behind someone who has aided and abetted the screwing of religious conservatives in recent years. (You know, like putting Mark Harris out there in the 2014 Senate race but NOT giving him a single dime from your fat bank account.)
See? Everybody DOES apparently have their price. Hopefully, Tami’s was more than thirty pieces of silver.
I’m glad Tami’s email came out today…these types of innuendo blasts are usually reserved for the day before an election so they can’t be refuted. Miss Tami may find more than a few volunteers and donors absent from her lists going forward. (she might have observed the lack of meddling in this election by various elected officials.) I think this is the first day I have heard from her twice. In the morning she solicited funds in a message from her own email account, at dinner (or supper) time she wrote a from her new account “tami@robinhayesncgop.com” or some such address which her Board may overlook. I declined both offers. Can’t wait to see what will come tomorrow.
Considering the histories of Ms. Fitzgerald and Mr. Hayes, “sell out” seems perfectly apt.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when her email dropped into my box tonight. I’ve never had my opinion of a person change so drastically in so short a period of time.
I can’t believe i got this letter from Tami. I replied to her and told her she had lost her mind.
I am Utterly Shocked she came out with this. She was a Strong Mccrory supporter as well as Dan Forrest who she has known would run for Governor. Now she blames Mccrory saying He wanted Hb2 Ditched ( A Hayes Response For losing Our Conservative Gov) and utilized again the Hayes Response blaming the Toll road for Pats Loss. She cpuld not justify the Supreme Court Loss of Bob Edmonds other than to quote An outdated response that the manner in which he had to be elected Vs just checking remain on a ballot. I guess her Values Are Not This Pastors Values who can not be Bought at Any Price! Not 4 Sale here but apparently Now NC Values Corporation Have a $$$$ Sign attached it seems. The problem comes after if and when Robin Hayes is not re-elected as Chairman. As noted Ms. Fitzgerald and the pro-establishment cabal will remain members in good standing of the NCGOP.
This same scenario playing out in the Washington DC Republican Establishment has done more harm sadly purposely. Even though Donald Trump was elected as a Republican President the GOP Establishment are in more ways more damaging then their Democrat counterparts.
Even now as Hillary Clinton goes on her blame the DNC among everyone else tour the Democrats remain passive and non critical of her. I wish this lesson of “biting the lip for the good of the Party” would be understood by Republicans. However following suit as the DC Republican ranks treatment of Donald Trump the establishment snobs in the NCGOP probably won’t let Jim Womack breath any sign of relief if elected chairman.

Tammi Fitzgerald is but another victim of Robin Hayes and the Coastal CONSERVATION Association. aka N C Sound Economy. She has breached her personal integrity at the nudging of the same forces that IN PART aided and abetted Governor McCroy ‘s loss because he breached his personal integrity.

Tami says she was Finance Direcctor of the NCGOP, which is a full time paid staff position in Raleigh, but she does not say what executive director she worked under. Was it Woodhouse?
Whoever really wrote this email, whether Tami or someone else is either way off base on whose job fundraising in the party is, or they think we are stupid. The Plan of Organization does NOT list fundraising among the duties of the state chairman. There are two state officers for whom fundraising is their sole duty, the Finance Chairman and the Assistant Finance Chairman. These are volunteer unpaid positions, but they are assisted by a full time Finance Director on the state party payroll. That position is currently vacant according to the party website.
Of course, the state chairman, by the nature of his office has his hands in most major party activities and that includes fundraising. Another is candidate recruitment for the Council of State, and this is where Robin Hayes had a major FAIL in 2012, when for the first time in many decades, the NCGOP failed to run a candidate for Attorney General, and at a time when Roy Cooper was reeling from the SBI scandal and highly vulnerable. It was monumental incompetence by Robin Hayes to fail to run a candidate against Cooper as AG when we had our best chance to beat him. Robin Hayes should hang his head in shame over that screwup, not try to run for chairman again.

While you may disagree with Tami, she is in no way a sellout of any kind.
The problem is that if you disagree with here over an issue you are pushing. Robin Hayes, for good or bad, has always been right on the prolife and profamily issues. Doesn’t have anything to do with his abilities or lack thereof regarding being party chairman. Obviously, Tami believes he has the skills, while you don’t. Why does that make her a sell out?
Conversely, you mentioned Robin at the 2012 convention but please elaborate on Womack’s activities at the 2016 national convention. WHY SHOULD ANYONE WHO WANTED TO TAKE THE NOMINATION AWAY FROM TRUMP by participating in a FLOOR demonstration during the convention have any business being our state party chairman. THAT, sir, is worse than ANYTHING Robin Hayes has done EVER regarding trying to derail the party and our candidates.

Hayes and Woodhouse have been pushing a sellout on HB2, so they have hardly been supporters of pro-family issues. Hayes and Woodhouse supported repeal instead of standing firm.
In fact, the NCGOP, if competently led would have been out front standing up for bathroom privacy instead of cowering and begging for a ”compromise” which really was a sellout. We should have been defining the issue instead of letting the left and the liberal media doing so. The NCGOP being AWOL on backing the pro-family side was disgusting.

It’s a shame that someone can ‘work’ so hard at family values and project the image of a Christian Conservative and then sell out to the party who doesn’t hold her same values. I’m 2013, she helped Robin Hayes and the Harris campaign to defeat a true Christian Constitutional Conservative candidate: Greg Brannon. Everyone’s true colors eventually come out. Greg’s have stayed the same. He doesn’t waiver to make the establishment happy. He stands on truth. We had our chance and blew it. Now it’s time to watch the colors change and suffer from our mistakes.
@ (Not So) Observant Debate Watcher- Perhaps I had a look-alike at the national convention in Cleveland. I did not travel there, but I watched the convention non-stop from my front room in Sanford, NC. My brother was there, and you probably saw him up close and personal- he had the gavel and shut down the attempt to derail the proposed convention rules the first night. He was a Trump supporter at the convention. I was a Trump supporter beginning in March. So, please get your facts straight before posting derogatory comments about me.
Was Dee Stewart tied up in the Hayes campaign (like he was with the Collins campaign)? This sounds just like one of the false rumors he would start in one of his typical smear campaigns. Smear campaigns based on lies and distortions are Stewart’s stock in trade.
