Tom Murry for NC Attorney General?
I am hearing from all corners of the state that the former Wake County legislator, former state courts official, and current prosecutor is giving a run for that office a serious, serious look.
Murry (R) served in the North Carolina House from 2010 to 2014. (Prior that, he was an at-large member for five years on the Morrisville Town Council in Wake County. )
In the state House, Murry achieved notoriety for his work in trying to exempt North Carolina from the wrath of ObamaCare. After leaving the House, Murry worked as chief legal counsel for state Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Martin.
After Martin left the court, Murry went to work for the NC Army National Guard. Since 2020, however, he has been an assistant district attorney for the 11th judicial district, which includes Franklin, Warren, Person, Vance and Granville counties.
Murry holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Arkansas, and a JD from Campbell University’s Wiggins Law School.
With Democrat incumbent Josh Stein running for governor, the AG seat will be Open. No word yet on any other GOP candidates or Democrat candidates.
I remember his time in the legislature. He was a good one. He has my vote.
