Shock crunch-time poll: Sam Page over Phil Berger by FIVE
We reported earlier about a poll showing Sheriff Sam Page with a ten-point lead over Senate president pro tem Phil Berger. In recent weeks, a pollster in The Outer Banks reported a three-point lead for Berger.
Now comes a poll from a DC-based group showing a FIVE POINT lead for sheriff Page. Page and Berger are facing off in the March GOP primary for NC senate district 26 (Rockingham and Guilford counties).
The survey was commissioned by Marc Rotterman — a longtime campaign strategist for North Carolina Republicans , the former host of Front Row on PBS NC and founding president of the John Locke Foundation. (Neither National Research Inc. or Marc Rotterman are affiliated with either campaign.)
Some of the key details:
- N = 250 Republican Primary Voters in NC-SD26
- Margin of Error: +/- 6.2%
- Field Dates: January 15-18, 2026

Clearly, Berger only wins by pushing his Trump endorsement and Page wins by reminding voters how he staked his political future on casinos… and is still trying to punish anybody who opposed him on that scam.
