Constitution Party now bigger than the Greens in NC
North Carolina’s newest political party – The Constitution Party – has made some significant inroads, but it still has its work cut out for it if it wants to play with the “big boys.”
According to state board of elections statistics, Democrats have the largest number of registered voters. Unaffiliateds are second, and Republicans come in third. The Libertarian Party is fourth, while the Constitution Party is fifth. The Greens come in sixth.
Here are the membership totals for each group (as of this weekend):
- Democrat — 2,472,064
- Unaffiliated — 2,145,188
- Republican — 2,006,464
- Libertarian — 37,552
- Constitution — 1,737
- Green — 1,467
For those of us in counties where The Republican infrastructure is making war on conservatives its good to have an option.
