Conservatism of Congressional GOP leaders
Does anyone else find it interesting that the top congressional leaders of the GOP — the conservative party — are nowhere near being the most conservative members of their respective caucuses or chambers?
According to National Journal, Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va), the House Majority Leader, is ranked #73 out of 435 in terms of conservative effectiveness with a total composite score of 80.3 out of a possible 100.
Over in the Senate, Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is ranked #11 out of a possible 100, with a total composite score of 85.7 out of a possible 100.
