Balanced Nutrition: The ‘Receipts’

Here we are providing copies of the worksheets DHHS reviewers used in their examination of Balanced Nutrition – the DHHS contractor and family business operated by Yolanda Hill, Mark Robinson and members of their extended family.

As you can see, a total of nine Balanced Nutrition customers were selected for the review.  (At the time of its closure in April, government records indicated that Balanced Nutrition had approximately 100 clients.  The firm had been working with state and federal agencies to reimburse daycare facilities for served lunches since 2017.)

With only ONE exception, the examination of each firm’s interactions with Balanced Nutrition was limited to just January, February, and March of 2024.

For each reviewed month,  costs were assigned to the following categories: Reported, Verified, Potentially Allowable, and Disallowed.  

Disallowed costs are those the state is likely to seek reimbursement for.

We’re told that a full audit of all Balanced Nutrition clients for the duration of BN’s relationship with NC DHHS is quite possible.
