Pinehurst 2011: GAME OVER for Ginsey?

Moore County’s thrice-weekly Pulitzer Prize winning local newspaper endorsed the candidacies of Mark Parson and John Cashion for Pinehurst Village Council this week.  Incumbent mayor Ginsey Fallon, stepping down to run for a council seat this year, was overheard by one of my spies commenting on her candidacy being dismissed by the editorial staff at The Pilot.

“I’ve won without their endorsement before, and I’ll do it again,” Fallon said, according to my spy.

Ginsey has a point.  A non-endorsement from The Pilot does not necessarily mean an unhappy ending for your campaign.  Just ask Senator Harris Blake, County Commissioner Nick Picerno, Joe Boylan in 2006 …
