In NC House district 51, Dan Forest chimes in to pick Womack for the win

The heat in this Lee County / Moore County-centered open seat got turned up a notch today with a surprise celebrity endorsement.  Former two-term lieutenant governor Dan Forest – the second Republican LTGov since Reconstruction – has been pretty quiet in his retirement from elected politics.  But today he raised his head above radar to speak up for his old friend, reigning chairman of the Lee County Board of Education, and current NC House candidate Sherry Lynn Womack:

As one would expect, Womack had some kind words in return for Forest:

Early voting is underway.  It ends on Saturday February 28.  Election Day is Tuesday, March 3.
