KING Arthur for, um — Moore / Hoke District Attorney ???
I had always thought fantasy role-playing (in public) was an activity reserved mainly for young children, as well as high school and college students who can’t get dates. Apparently, there are tens of thousands of people nationwide actively pretending to be living in medieval Europe. ONE of those tens of thousands happens to be one of the two Republican candidates in the March primary for Moore / Hoke district attorney.
The March race pits career prosecutor Mike Hardin against recently-hired Moore County assistant prosecutor (and Obama donor) Arthur Donadio.
Donadio is the hand-picked, endorsed choice of incumbent county prosecutor Maureen Krueger.
Apparently, Arthur Donadio has a lengthy period of involvement with a national group known as The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). (It appears the group was founded on May Day 1966 in Berkeley, California — the capital city of All Things Different and Bizarre. The one place in the country that makes Chapel Hill-Carrboro look tame in comparison.)
Members of the SCA dress up like, and pretend to be, various characters from medieval Europe. They participate in medieval activities, like sword-fight duels, and even adopt aliases. According to group records, Donadio operates under the alias “Duke Quan McDaige.”

Group records also indicate that Donadio heads up something called “The Tribe of Donadio,” — in which he is known as “Lord Donadio.”
In 2019, group records indicate Donadio (aka “Lord Donadio” aka “Duke Quan McDaige”) was crowned “King of Atlantia.” (One has to wonder if the staff in Maureen Krueger’s office in Carthage knows they are working in the presence of, um, royalty. )
A candidate pretending to be a historical character doesn’t bother me nearly as much as a candidate who pretends to be a Conservative. What really bothers me about this guy is is history of donating to people like Obama and Schiff. Oh, and his numerous donations to the NC Advocates for Justice, a liberal group that supports things like drivers licenses for illegals and is closely aligned with another group named BlueprintNC, whose goal was to cripple any GOP leaders, pressure Gov. McCrory, and “eviscerate” the GOP leadership. I’m unaffiliated but even I know that this isn’t typical Conservative behavior. Maybe we should vote for the other guy.
And all of these skeletons in one closet got by the local GOP?.
Another “hold your nose” election between two newly-minter Republicans looking for my “Unaffiliated” vote.

Let’s try this with less of a incrediblist bent – the SCA is an international nonprofit with member throughout the North America, Australia, and Europe. It is dedicated to research and education of the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. That clothing and crowns and furniture being shown were made by participants who regular help out at library and school events. To become king is a temporary position which allows members to explore aspects of leadership – often overseeing regional groups covering multiple states and traveling to those areas, hearing grievances, and creating compromises.
Democrats have always believed in “make believe”.
Republicans should kick his fat pretending ass on March 3.
