#ncga: Hard feelings still lingering among SD-25 GOPers?
Speaking of Tom McInnis and the Senate GOP caucus ….
It appears there hasn’t been much of an effort to kiss and makeup in the wake of the vicious GOP primary between McInnis and Whispering Pines mayor Michelle Lexo earlier this year.
Moore County is a key bloc of GOP votes in the district. Word among the moles here in Moore is that there is still a significant amount of discomfort and anger regarding McInnis among local GOP leaders and activists.
A couple of well-placed sources tell me there is better than a 50-50 possibility 
that McInnis’s name may be left off of the Moore GOP’s advertising and get-out-the-vote efforts for November. An unspoken effort to basically ignore McInnis in the November voting. Leaving the Senate race ballot line blank.
I am told there is quite a groundswell of support for such a move among Moore Republicans.
With McInnis already behind Democrat challenger Helen Probst Mills in fundraising, this is a prospect that Raleigh Republicans do not need to come to fruition.
Bitter primaries too often lose general elections. Why did the Raleigh machine not comprehend this when they did what they did in this Senate primary? it was their jumping the shark that has caused the bitterness.
They don’t care. They’re Elitists, remember? They think they’re smarter than the rest of us.
I will be leaving that line blank due to the outrageous lies McInnis spread in the primary. His problem is that the folks heavily involved in the County party know that too. Character matters. Just because someone has a R after their name does not mean they deserve your vote. Last point, coming into the County and attacking someone who has done a lot for the party was not too smart.
if Moore GOP does that, it won’t be precedential, I know of at least one other County, that in past elections”, have quietly removed “Republican”candidates from their voter guides. Because of the meddling in our primaries via funding and laws eliminating a majority requirement to win a Primary, local Parties are being forced to consider such extreme measures in order to wrest back control over their elected officials.
Thank God there are still local parties willing to stand up to the bullies.
County Parties taking a stand is what it will take to save this sorry mess we have within the NCGOP. Some County Executive Committees have more backbone than others. Then there are some that seem to be oblivious to all going on around them.
Some local parties have experience with this issue.
