NCGOP Follies: “Results, not Rhetoric” & The Pronunciation Game

Surprisingly, this one has NOTHING to do with the little cartoon character. What you see below is being pushed out all over social media: This is not news.  He already told us in his emailed Christmas card that he was running again.  The ad is recycled from his last run for chairman, where he knocked off Jim Womack. The fact that it’s being pushed out now means someone is putting some money behind it.  But is he seriously going to run under the slogan “Results, not Rhetoric” this time around?  After November???? The 9-11 hijackers got results.   Let’s look at…

#ncpol: What is this “fight” you speak of, Grandpa?

After weeks of hiding — and sending Dallas out to advocate for a new election  and even telling legislators to change the law to allow for a new primary — NCGOP chairman Robin Hayes has come out,um, swinging: We won this round. Democrat Governor Roy Cooper tried to intimidate the NCGOP into submitting names for a sham kangaroo elections board. With the law on our side, we said no to his bullying. Because the NCGOP stood for the constitution and the rule of law, as noted by the news media, Cooper was embarrassed into backing down. Cooper served in the…

#ncpol: He WON’T leave! (OMG)

If you believe everything you read — especially things like Dallas’s Grandpa’s Christmas cards — we’re being set up for TWO MORE YEARS of the Dallas & Grandpa Show: I guess the RNC wasn’t willing to take him off our hands for a do-nothing convention prep job.   Nobody — registered Republican — with any common sense or significant number of IQ points seriously thinks 2018 was a great election year for the NCGOP.  There are overwhelming calls from all four corners of the state — and the party — seeking the heads of Dallas and his Grandpa. Wake County…

Aaaaand NOW: A word from Dallas’s Grandpa …

The last time we saw him publicly, he was openly encouraging people to violate campaign finance law.  He’s been locked away since then, but someone felt obligated to let him out in the wake of Tuesday’s debacle to record a message to the NCGOP troops. (Of course, we got a copy.)  Hayes starts off by thanking party volunteers and leaders for their work in a “challenging election season”: […] “There are no words to convey just how appreciative I am.  We won 95 of 170 legislative seats, held on to our 10-3 US House delegation, and passed four of six…

#ncpol: Like grandpa, like grandson.

If you’ve ever wondered HOW Dallas Woodhouse comes up with some of the things he says and does, look no further than his grandfather, NCGOP chairman Robin Hayes: The chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party faces criticism for comments he made at a recent campaign fundraiser, where some say he misrepresented campaign finance laws and possibly forecast his intentions to break them. Robin Hayes, chairman of the NC GOP, spoke at the fundraiser for U.S. Rep. David Rouzer at the Figure 8 Yacht Club in Wilmington on Aug. 10 when he asked attendees to donate to the party organization…

The RNC and Grandpa, sittin’ in a tree …

Dallas’s grandpa recently got some love from DC GOPe HQ: The Republican National Committee (RNC) announced Robin Hayes will serve as Chairman of the State Chairmen, and RNC Co-Chair Bob Paduchik will serve as Chairman for the Presidential Nominating Process Committee. Chairman of the chairmen?  That sounds like that meaningless ‘milk monitor’ title they used to give the kids in kindergarten who always got picked last for kickball.  An act of sympathy.  But then, Trump’s pick for RNC Chairman lays it on extra thick: “I’m excited to announce the appointments of these two chairmen and the entire committee,” said RNC…

The, um, “secret” behind Robin Hayes’s fundraising, um, “success”

Back during the coup to oust Hasan Harnett, the NCGOPe coup plotters kept claiming the party couldn’t raise any money during Harnett’s nine months in office.  Well, we ran a comparison showing that the party under Harnett was more prolific in the fundraising department than it was during the same period of time in Hayes’s previous tenure as state party chairman. Here’s a little gem from Hayes’s 1996 run for governor that sure could be considered relevant today:  Moms are great. Particularly if they’ve got a lot of money. Miriam Cannon Hayes, for instance, loaned $1 million earlier this year…

#NCGOP: Can’t shut them up? (Then BAN them.)

For a crew that likes to brag about growing the Republican Party, Dallas Woodhouse and his Gramps sure are spending an inordinate amount of time sending threatening lawyer letters to Republican activists: Hmmm.  Is the race to reelect Gramps as state chairman going so poorly that they are having to target conservative “troublemakers” with letters like this?    Banning conservative “troublemakers” — even those who are duly elected convention delegates — from even appearing on site at the state convention in Wilmington?  (*If only Hasan would have had this tactic at his disposal against dear sweet Ma Cotten or Zan.*)  I would…

Rubio for President co-chairman Robin Hayes takes credit for Trump’s NC success

That’s right.  Just a few months before being installed via coup as NCGOP state chairman, Robin Hayes was appointed North Carolina co-chairman of the Marco Rubio for President campaign.   Now, just days before delegates choose between Hayes and challenger Jim Womack, the state GOP HQ sends out a release touting Hayes’s “Oval Office meeting” with President Trump.    : Today, North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) Chairman Robin Hayes met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office and discussed the North Carolina Republican Party’s ongoing efforts to support the Trump policy agenda and the path to victory in North…

TALKING is Hard.

The more I see Robin Hayes in action, the more I understand why his mush-mouthed grandson is out front and on-camera speaking for the party so often.    Hayes’s public appearances are marked more and more often with outlandish behavior — scowling, threats, insults, stomping off-stage or just completely not making sense.  It’s quite curious for a guy heralded by the establishment as THE BEST CHOICE for a job whose main duty is to cheerlead for and promote The North Carolina Republican Party.  The NCGOPe is contorting itself into a pretzel to try and help the man survive a challenge from Lee County…
