#ncga: Raleigh special interests betting BIG on McInnis

They’ve backed driver licenses for illegals, tax increases, corporate welfare giveaways, the repeal of HB2, and Common Core.  Now, The NC Chamber is giving its blessing and endorsement to the renomination and reelection of state senator Tom McInnis (R-Richmond).   McInnis is locked in a heated primary fight with Michelle Lexo, the mayor of the Moore County village of Whispering Pines, in the newly-reconfigured state senate district 25. #ncga: Chamber of (Crony) Commerce

The North Carolina Chamber appears to be following the national Chamber’s lead in going all-out in support of statism and the establishment.  They told us in ads, last year, that our kids were going to die fiery deaths in their school buses if the legislature didn’t spend MORE money.  They LOVE ConnectNC and Common Core. Now, the NC Chamber is getting into Republican primaries — of course, in opposition to Tea Party-aligned candidates and FOR establishment-blessed crony capitalists. That is the unhinged thesis of some new ads put out by the North Carolina Chamber — allegedly the state’s largest and most powerful pro-business group.  (Disclosure:  I was briefly a member of said organization.  I got frustrated with it after a while. Most of the membership consists of Raleigh and Charlotte mega-law firms / lobbying shops, and large crony capitalist corporations.  It’s not the good old fashioned small-town chamber of commerce run by Fred the insurance salesman and George the barber. )  Gov.
