ObamaCare: Taxpayer subsidy for ME, but not for THEE

No wonder Richard Burr thinks it is “the dumbest idea” to defund ObamaCare.  It’s leaked out that the federal government will subsidize the health care costs of Members of Congress and their staffs: All over the country, people are worried about how Obamacare will affect the cost and quality of their health coverage. Members of Congress and their staffs were especially panicked, because it appeared that the Affordable Care Act required them to purchase coverage on the law’s new insurance exchanges, but without the generous subsidy they receive for their current coverage. Wayne King headed to Congress?

Sources within the staff of Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC-11) are confirming that NCGOP vice-chairman Wayne King has been hired onto the congressman’s staff as a “senior adviser.”   Word is also circulating among state GOP politicos that King will not seek re-election to the state party’s vice-chairman post. Congressman-elect Meadows: walking back campaign promises at the speed of light

Republican Mark Meadows talked a tough, conservative game in his campaign for the 11th district congressional seat being vacated by Democrat Health Shuler.  Now, after the votes have been counted, and he’s been guaranteed at least two years in Washington, the congressman-elect is going a little wussy wobbly on us: Republican Congressman-elect Mark Meadows said Friday that a chance to vote to repeal Obamacare is unlikely with the president back in office and Democrats controlling the U.S. Senate. He said he would focus instead on ways to make the law more palatable to small businesses…

11th district’s Hayden Rogers (D) FOR and AGAINST ObamaCare

In 2004, Democrat presidential nominee John F. Kerry told us he was FOR the war on terror BEFORE he was against it.  Got that?  Good.  In 2012, 11th district Democrat congressional nominee Hayden Rogers  — right hand man to outgoing congressman Health Shuler — appears to be playing a similar game on the ObamaCare legislation (which the Supreme Court confirmed is the largest tax increase in American history): Democratic congressional candidate Hayden Rogers said today that he would not have voted for President Obama’s health care law but now that the Supreme Court has upheld the bill, it…
