#ncpol: Meeting & Greeting SOMEBODY ELSE’S voters

This is Congressman Mark Meadows’s Democrat opponent in November. Could someone please provide him with a map?   This guy is running in the 11th congressional district.  The Sheraton Chapel Hill is in the 4th congressional district. Check out the map below and see if you can spot the problem. No one residing within a reasonable driving distance of the Sheraton Chapel Hill can legally vote for Phillip Price.  They would likely be Democrat congressman David Price’s constituents.  Perhaps Phillip is hoping those wacky Orange County libs will be confused by the last names and think they are donating to…

Mark Meadows: Evidence shows Obama directed FBI spying on Trump

The North Carolina Republican, representing the state’s 11th congressional district, dropped this bombshell today in an interview with Raleigh radio personality Patrick Johnson.  (We obtained a tape of a segment of the interview, which has yet to be publicly broadcast.) Meadows says on the tape: “[…] We believe, that contrary to his public statement, that not only was President Obama aware but certainly his chief-of-staff  Dennis McDonough had a briefing on August the 12th of 2016 and then there was another briefing in September.  The messages — the text messages I’ve had the privilege of reviewing and some of the…

#ncpol: Mark Meadows for WH chief of staff ???

That’s the word coming from DC drivebys: […] Several Trump confidantes reached by ABC News said the president is considering multiple names as possible Kelly replacements, among those, top economic adviser Gary Cohn, Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney and Rep. Mark Meadows. […]  Personally, I think it’s Mulvaney’s job if he wants it.  Though, you’d have to think long and hard about taking it.  The two guys who have had it have been beaten about the head and run off. (Word is that current COS Kelly is on his way out.) Congressman Mark Meadows, initially a Cruz backer in the presidential…

#ncpol: John Boehner disses Meadows, praises McHenry

Politico has a lengthy profile on the speaker-in-exile.  It offers some real insight into the former DC powerbroker-turned-golf-cart-jockey.  (Especially about how foul-mouthed he is.) In the article, Boehner singles out two members of the North Carolina delegation: […] Cantor’s loss triggered a leadership shuffle: McCarthy was promoted to majority leader, and Scalise was elected whip. The new chief deputy whip, McHenry—who admits to being “a bomb-thrower” his first three years in Congress and viewing Boehner as a nincompoop—tells me his view changed upon joining the speaker at his daily management meetings. “I’m in there and it’s this realization—Oh, wait a…

Conservative Review: Budd overtakes Meadows as most conservative NCGOPer in DC

The new guy in town sure is getting some attention in conservative circles.  Conservative Review has finally decided to update its conservative rankings of Members of Congress.   Their analysis — as of April 18 — has congressman Ted Budd rockin’ a perfect score of 100 percent.  (Budd is one of just 17 House members CR awarded a perfect score to.) Mark Meadows, the previous king of the hill, comes in second at 93 percent.  Budd and Meadows are the only As handed out this time to North Carolinians by CR.   In the B category, we have Mark Walker with…

#ncpol: GOP argues amongst itself on killing ObamaCare

They got their majorities in Washington on the promise to kill ObamaCare.  They got The White House too, based partially on the promise to kill ObamaCare. You’d figure the GOP — fully in the driver’s seat — would be going on a de-regulation and cutting spree.   Yet, some of the fiercest debate on tossing ObamaCare is going on within the party placed in power and charged with the mission of slaying the O-Care beast.  Mark Meadows of North Carolina is the lead “negotiator” – -if you will — with the Republican House leaders on killing ObamaCare: GOP lawmakers were told…

WNC Rally. For Mark Meadows. Monday.

FreedomWorks and a bunch of other friends of this site are putting together a quick show of appreciation Monday in the big city of Waynesville — in the heart of Meadows’s district — to show appreciation to the man who led the fight to slay Ryan- Ryno- Care.  Here are the details: On Monday, March 27, 2017, FreedomWorks is sponsoring a rally to support Congressman Mark Meadows in front of the Historic Courthouse in Waynesville, NC at 12:30PM. Asheville Tea Party and Haywood 9-12 are the local grassroots groups supporting this effort. The NC11 Congressman has been making news recently…

Meadows praised for standing strong against ObamaCare, RyanCare

Well, at least one member of our mediocre congressional delegation hasn’t sold out and surrendered: That NO is on RyanCare — the limp, weak, toothless GOPe attempt at tackling ObamaCare.  Meadows’s leadership at the helm of the House Freedom Caucus is earning him kudos from at least one national conservative  group: Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement praising U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows’ (R-N.C.) support of a full repeal of Obamacare and opposing the now-proposed replacement on the table: “House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows is a man of unusual character and integrity in Washington,…

Lefty logic: Protecting privacy = #fakechristian

I’ve always maintained that tax returns are one huge violation of privacy rights.  It’s one thing to have nameless and faceless bureaucrats poring over every bit of your financial business. It’s another thing to have ALL of your financial business broadcast across the drive by media. I don’t care how much you’ve made or who you’ve made it from — outside of government service.  When you are in public service, the people putting cash in your pocket need some scrutiny.  All for the sake of trying to prevent or root out paid-off cops, judges, legislators or Members of Congress.  …

WHY can’t the GOP trust the market on health care?

The Republican Party’s platform at the national and state level talks oh so nice about appreciating the free market.  But a lot of that doesn’t mesh with the rhetoric coming out of DC Republican leaders’ mouths.  In about three weeks, they will control both ends of Capitol Hill AND The White House.  But we’re still getting the same kind of foot-dragging and whining we heard when Obama AND Harry Reid controlled two of those three.  *Repeal and Replace! No need to rush!* Republicans are now seriously talking about waiting THREE YEARS to start seriously dismantling ObamaCare.   Why? Part of…
