‘Tricky Dick’ Burr: “I’m Sam Ervin! I’m SAM, I am!” ( Jim Morrill SAID so.)

The president is trying to rally his troops to deal with arguably the worst crisis facing the country, and Richard Burr is preoccupied with FANTASY:

President Trump told GOP senators at the White House on Wednesday that they should cancel their August recess and not leave town until acting to repeal ObamaCare.

“We shouldn’t leave town until this is complete,” he said during a lunch at the White House. “We should hammer this out and get it done.” […]

Only three GOP senators missed the lunch: Richard Burr (N.C.), Johnny Isakson (Ga.) and John McCain (Ariz.).

Burr, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said he is limiting his trips to the White House while his panel investigates Russia’s election interference.[…]

So far, the “Russian interference” meme has been thoroughly discredited as fabrication, utter nonsense, etc. etc.  (Did everybody see his televised hearings?)  Even The New York Times and the Democrats have admitted there is NO EVIDENCE to support any of it.  Shades of the freakin’ October Surprise nonsense of the 80s and early 90s.

Of course, RobRielleWho and Jim Morrill had vapors early on about Russian ‘collusion” being the next Watergate and Burr being the second coming of Sam Ervin. (Of course, with the speed McClatchy is bleeding money, they’ll be losing their jobs before Trump does.)

Sam Ervin helped take down a president (after spending years defending segregation).  Jesse Helms was a conservative warrior.  Tricky Dick is certainly working on one hell of a political legacy:  aiding the Democrats in sabotaging his party’s president, and NOT BEING Elaine Marshall or Deborah Ross.

Bringing shame on NC. Where does NC find fools like this?

I try to avoid hyperbole when possible. OK, I don’t try all that hard, but I do try… but when it comes to Richard “Tricky Dick” Burr I’ve stopped trying.

I have voted for Burr in each of his Senate campaigns because he had a “R” after his name and his opponent had a “D”. PERIOD… that’s why. He “says” he is not running again, so I can avoid “holding my nose” and voting for him again.

I put Richard Burr in that rarest of categories – Elected officials I despise as much as I despise John McCain. It is a very small collection of very unsavory individuals. Congratulations “Tricky Dick”… you’ve earned it.

“Very small collection of unsavory individuals”? My collection is vast, and grows bigger every day.
