#ncga: Solar goons backing Burr’s primary foe

We’ve been documenting the fight over crony capitalism for solar farms within the NCGOP.  We’ve got folks who think tax breaks and subsidies for solar panels is a more important fight than, oh, the size and scope of government, taxes, the economy.  *Minor stuff like that.* burr-justin

Charlotte gazillionaire Jay Faison is hard at work trying to replace the GOP’s elephant mascot with that of a solar panel.  He’s loaded up his allies with cash, and aggressively funded primary challengers across the state to legislators who don’t see things his way on crony capitalism for solar panels. Faison recently got caught trying to find a primary opponent for House majority leader Mike Hager — a leading Jones Street foe of subsidies for the solar crowd.

State Rep. Justin Burr used to be part of the in-crowd.  Now, he apparently isn’t.  He’s done some hinky things with his campaign funds, but nothing on the scale of what solar whore and Lewis / Moore fanboy Jason Saine perpetrated.

The GOPe has poked and prodded and toyed with young Justin the whole session.  Young Mr. Burr turned the tables on them by publicly calling out Speaker Tim Moore and his henchmen on ethical issues.

moneycountNow, we come to learn that young Mr. Burr has a primary opponent – a guy named Lane Burris.  Well, Mr. Burris has submitted his initial campaign finance numbers:  a $2,500 contribution from himself, and a $5,100 contribution from Faison.

This is not about ethics.  It’s not about issues.  The Mafia’s business plan is at work. Make money by shaking down hard-working people whose “guns” aren’t as big as yours. On this whole solar thing, a lot of cash is being passed out with the hopes of further opening the taxpayer-funded money spigot.  *If that cash has to be used to, um, unemploy a few folks who stand in the way of this corrupt agenda, SO BE IT.*

The solar cartel and their lapdog politicians have pushed through legislation that guarantees we (1) will be paying a lot more for electricity, which will (2) in turn pad THEIR pockets and fund their ambitions.

Sounds like the heavily subsidized fossil fuel folks can’t compete with an upstart like solar/wind.

Faison is North Carolina’s Tom Steyer. These guys and their allies pull down a bundle in corporate welfare, and they spend some of that trying to put in corrupt politicians who will give them a lot more. They are indeed a mafia.

Who pays? First the taxpayer. The Locke Foundation just revealed some figures from the Department of Revenue which show that NC taxpayers will be on the hook to the solar energy goons for almost a billion dollars in corporate welfare from a so-called safe harbor provision enacted by the Obama Republicans and Obama Democrats in the last General Assembly.

Who else pays? The electric ratepayer. Duke Power’s recent filing for a rate increase specifically cited the higher cost of renewable energy – wind and solar – as justification for a higher consumer rate. If you look at countries that have gone much farther down this path like Germany, their consumer electric rates are in the stratosphere.

Politicians who cozy up to the special interests like these solar thugs at the expense of their own constituents are the most despicable of political prostitutes and do not deserve to be in public office.

Our electric ratepayers should not be gouged with higher rates to line the pockets of these slugs. Our taxpayers deserve to have that billion spent on things like roads, schools, and tax cuts instead of given to a corrupt special interest.

Yeah the fossil fuel guys are way behind. I know one guy who accepted 150 dollars from one group and got called bought and paid for! No winning in this game without principles..

Why not, baby? The NCGOP is F-O-R S-A-L-E, or at least a lot of them are. Our hard core environmental movement sends in money from various sources. We thought we had it hidden when the hard core environmentalist money came in to buy those two progressive Republican consultants, Dee Stewart and Paul Shumaker, but those stinkers at Civitas found it out and let people know. It is amazing how few dollars it takes to bring these guys over to President Obama’s side on green energy.

Our solar energy friends bought and paid for a lot of GOP legislators. Their biggest ”get” was Tim Moore, the guy they gave the most money to, by far, in the 2014 election cycle, and after that Timmy became Speaker where he could control a lot of votes. David Lewis and Nelson Dollar were two other legislators who sold us their souls.

Justin Burr, on the other hand, needs to go. All he cares about is protecting the silly taxpayers and electric ratepayers, and he actually supports your silly Republican platform. He cares nothing about protecting the Polar Bears, which is what is really important. He does not comprehend that in order to protect the Polar Bears, we need to make air conditioning unaffordable for those stupid rednecks who do not deserve it anyway.

Faison is a new tool for the hard core environmental movement to get control of your party. It is good to have him on board.

You incompetent rightwingers did not even have the competence to line up guys from your side against our guys Jason Saine, John Skoza, Bob Steinburg, or Tim Moore. We are after your guys Justin Burr and Larry Pittman.

Can’t you connect the dots? Our solar energy friends gave Tim Moore big bucks. Tim Moore helped arrange opposition to Justin Burr, who would not take our money. Burr complained about Moore. Now our ally Faison is sending big bucks to defeat Justin Burr, and our solar friends are likely sending a lot more.
