Driveby paper admits: Clifton is RIGHT.

A member of the state’s driveby media has finally caught on to what so many people out there already know. Now, if we could just get the rest of them onboard.  Here’s The Wilson Times from December 7: Wherever he’s been stowed away for safekeeping, Silent Sam is surely shaking his head. This week, the University of North Carolina Board of Governors rubber-stamped Chancellor Carol Folt’s proposal to move the…

NC-09: NCSBE chairman’s kin PAID $$$$ to campaign for Dan McCready?

NC state elections board chairman Joshua Malcolm already has an ethical dilemma on his hands —  chairing an investigation into campaign dealings in his home county involving a political machine he has long defended and supported.  The current hubbub over the Ninth Congressional District got started via a concern registered by Malcolm.  Well, campaign finance reports filed by the North Carolina Democratic Party indicate that quite possibly at least TWO…

Why were Columbus County sheriff-elect and his wife voting in two separate counties?

Sheriff-elect Jody Greene (R) is quite busy defending himself from accusations that — among other things — he doesn’t live in Columbus County.  State law requires that sheriffs live IN the county they serve. Greene is struggling to keep his story straight.  He’s maintained that he has been a long-term resident on family property in the Columbus County community of Cerro Gordo.  Yet, driveby media can’t seem to find any…

NC-09: Robeson judge candidate played absentee ballot game

Angelica Chavis McIntyre (D) had a great election day in November.  The assistant Robeson county prosecutor defeated incumbent district court judge Dale Deese, a former Democrat who switched to unaffiliated and won an appointment to a vacant seat from then-Gov. Pat McCrory (R).  Given all the attention to campaign activities in Bladen County, it’s important to look at what happened in neighboring Robeson County.  It appears a number of Democrat…

NC-09: State election chaos upends Columbus County sheriff’s race

State efforts to block certification of local races in the Ninth Congressional District have bled over to a local race in the neighboring Seventh District.  Apparently, the state board of elections is asking for a de-certification of the disputed November  2018 sheriff’s race in Columbus County, where incumbent Democrat Lewis Hatcher was upset by Republican Jody Greene by 37 votes.  Greene was sworn in on December 3.  There have been…

NCGOP staffer seeking more ways to “work with Democrats”

Grier Martin beat her brains out (electorally) on Election Day.  She campaigned for the House while on the state GOP payroll.  (Her campaign website included boasting about how her greatest accomplishments included getting resolutions passed at Young Republican meetings.) She’s blasted Republicans for not being cozier with “progressive” political activists.  (She even joined some RINO calls for moi to leave the NCGOP.) Hang on to your hats, folks.  Catherine Whiteford…

NC-09: #ncga’s sen. Ralph Hise joins the stupidity

If IFs and BUTs were candy and nuts, OH what a party we’d have. Here’s a statement from Senator Ralph Hise (R-Mitchell), the senate’s elections guru and counterpart to Rep. David Lewis: The GOP “evidence” for calling for a (1) new primary and (2) new election in the Ninth Congressional District is FREAKIN’  New York Times reporting !!!!!!! Let’s count how many times “alleged” and “if” are used in the…

NC-09: “MEDIA reports”? (Seriously?)

In their lust to just make the whole NC-09 kerfuffle GO AWAY, Raleigh Republicans are passing legislation of questionable constitutionality and embracing the reporting of the driveby media. Never before has the lack of leadership in the NCGOP been so apparent.  You’ve got hundreds of egos running around, running their mouths.  Meanwhile, in the Ninth District, reputations are being destroyed, the will of the people is being ignored, and the…

NC-09: Columbus County EVEN WORSE than Bladen.

They’ve got a sheriff who may not actually live IN the county.  Now, it appears Columbus County may have more missing ballots than neighboring Bladen County, which is earning all the national media attention: As evidence mounts of potential election fraud in Bladen County, WECT has learned this may not be an isolated problem. WECT has just uncovered that things in Columbus County may be even worse. About a third…

Elizabeth City paper: Bob Steinburg needs to apologize.

I know.  I know.  The guy who intersperses his vicious personal attacks on political foes with self-righteous proclamations about his ‘Christianity’ won’t do it. He’ll caterwaul and moan about his young innocent legislative aide being “injured,” but won’t say a word about his (and his inner circle’s) previous bad behavior toward his past political opponents.   Apologizing is not senator-elect BS’s style.  He’s  more of a slander-praise-Jesus – slander-some-more-move-on kind of…
