ANOTHER sketchy DC DEM group messed with absentee ballots in Robeson County

“We The People Robeson County” — a grassroots band of anti-corruption crusaders — has uncovered the involvement of a leftist-oriented DC-based group in the dissemination of absentee ballots in Robeson County.  (Robeson is one of the counties in the contested Ninth Congressional District.) “We The People” posted photos of a mailing from something called “The Voter Participation Center.”  The mailers included a letter instructing recipients to fill out an absentee request form and mail it back in to the VPC.  It appears that VPC was acting as a middle-man (not unlike Bladen’s McRae Dowless) in the absentee ballot process. The…

(Hmmm.) DCCC played absentee ballot game in Robeson County.

It appears the US House Democrats’ political arm was in the Ninth District prior to Election Day tinkering with absentee ballots: […]According to Robeson election records, an operative from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee dropped off one box of requests on Oct. 8 and another on Oct. 10, totaling 603 voter registration or absentee ballot request forms, less than a month before the election. A DCCC representative whose business card was left at the county election board office did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Another DCCC representative also declined several times to speak on the record about the…

#ncga: What did Bob Steinburg KNOW about aide’s thievery?

As Bob Steinburg and his inner circle rage on about an alleged political conspiracy against his top legislative aide and campaign manager, we’re going to stick with documentation and cold-hard FACTS. Team Steinburg’s decision to go after the Dare County district attorney who prosecuted Diana London has resulted in the prosecutor himself releasing all of his notes related to the plea deal he struck with London. One of the more interesting tidbits from the D.A.’s document dump?   In a timeline of the case created by the prosecutor, it is revealed that Steinburg himself attended a business meeting between London…

#ncga: Team Steinburg preps for war against Dare Co. DA

With most politicians, if an aide runs afoul with the law, the pol and the aide quietly go their separate ways and the subject gets changed.  Bob Steinburg isn’t like most people.  *EVERYBODY — and I mean EVERYBODY — is out to get him.* (And he’s going to GET them right back.)  Diana London — Steinburg’s legislative assistant and campaign manager — pleaded guilty this week to misdemeanor larceny.  She has to pay $10,000 of the total $25,000 in restitution by THIS Monday or risk some jail time. Steinburg responded to the plea with a not-so-subtle threat against the Dare…

Robeson pol behind fake PAC in 2018 got $54K from Dems for 2012 GOTV

We reported earlier about a fake PAC in Lumberton — The Robeson County Get Out The Vote Committee — getting all kinds of Democrat GOTV cash prior to the November election.  We identified the person behind the PAC — unregistered with state or federal authorities —  as Robeson County commissioner Jerry Stephens. 2018 wasn’t Stephens’s first go-’round with GOTV.  In 2012, he ran something called The Robeson Committee on the Affairs of Black People.  The month before the November election that year — which included a presidential and gubernatorial vote — the Robeson County Democrat Party loaded Stephens’s organization up…

The tale of the tape: Steinburg’s aide admits “… I stole”

The Dare County woman who works for senator-elect Bob Steinburg’s as his legislative assistant and campaign manager ( as well as for his basketball promotion company) pleaded guilty earlier this week to misdemeanor larceny.  Among other things — that include supervised and unsupervised probation as well as a suspended jail sentence – Diana London is required to pay $25,000 restitution to her victims. Senator-elect Steinburg said post -plea that he still has “full confidence” in his aide and will continue to employ her.  He also launched into a tirade against the Dare County prosecutor — questioning both his integrity and…

Monkey Business Report: Fake PAC gets Dem GOTV $$$ in Robeson County

The national media and their patrons in the Democrat Party are fixated on Bladen County and alleged Republican electoral malfeasance there.  Meanwhile, next door in Robeson County, there was a significantly larger sum of money — and a larger cast of characters — involved than there was in the McRae Dowless affair in Bladen.  Campaign finance reports for Bladen’s Republican sheriff James McVicker (2018) and Democrat  district  attorney candidate Butch Pope (2010) both show payments to McRae Dowless for “Get out the vote.” My sources on the ground in Robeson County tell me that the state and national Democrat “get out…

#ncga: Steinburg’s Girl Friday pleads GUILTY

That’s what my moles in the Dare County Courthouse tell me went down yesterday. Diana London — who works as senator-elect Bob Steinburg’s legislative aide, his top campaign aide, and for his Wolfestein basketball tournament promotion business — was indicted by a Dare County grand jury earlier this year on one felony count of embezzlement. The case was meant to go to court during Steinburg’s general election campaign against Democrat Cole Phelps, but was continued until THIS WEEK — well after the voters had their say. According  to courthouse sources, London pleaded guilty today to misdemeanor larceny. Here were the…

It’s all about Bladen & The GOP. (Meanwhile, Robeson, Dems get a FREE PASS.)

The Democrat chairman of the state board of elections has resigned in the wake of the revelation of his long history of anti-GOP tweets.  Gov. Cooper has replaced him with fellow board member and Robeson County attorney Joshua Malcolm.  Malcolm is an operative for a Robeson County Democrat political machine that frequently has its fingerprints on some of the most devious, nefarious, dubious, questionable election activity in the state,  And, just in the nick of time, our Democrat governor has elevated Malcolm to supervise an investigation that could wipe out a GOP congressional victory.   (It’s interesting that Cooper replaced…

Robeson County getting increased scrutiny in state probe of 2018 vote

Gosh, I’m looking almost psychedelic — er, psychic — on this state election investigation in the 9th congressional district. Democrat partisans have tried to use the probe to block the seating of congressman-elect Mark Harris in the US House — citing allegations against a Republican operative in Bladen County.  But now, it’s starting to look like a Democrat powerhouse may have had a much bigger role in any election mischief in the 9th: Victory in the fight for a District Court bench position in Robeson County has been snatched from Vanessa Burton — at least for now. The North Carolina Board of Elections on Friday elected not…
