#ncpol: Marine’s death earns Hudson some unwanted attention

Here’s the story from Big League Politics: In late January, a Marine Reconnaissance Scout died in a multi-mission parachute training accident in Coolidge, Arizona. “Alex was one in a million. Always had a smile on his face,” said Noelia Davis, the fallen Marine’s cousin. According to the U.S. Marine Corps Training Command, Cpl. Alejandro “Alex” Romero, 22, died after a “double-bag static line parachute mishap.” Romero served with Bravo Company, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, and in the III Marine Expeditionary Force based in Okinawa, Japan. The Marine Corps has suspended all double-bag static line parachuting operations indefinitely, according to…

#ncpol: Solar goons teaming with Hudson to sink claws into tax $$$ for hydropower?

That’s what it looks like.  Here’s an excerpt from Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s schedule for the House floor this coming week:   Check out HR 2786, sponsored by Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC-08).  “Qualifying”?  Qualifying for what?  Government cash and tax incentives, perhaps?  This release from the House Energy Committee explains that the bill “promotes the development” of small hydroelectric plants and “eases regulatory burdens” on developing them.   North Carolina state government offers generous incentives for hydroelectric plants. The feds have also got some sweet incentives — cash and tax breaks — for hydropower.  The trick IS getting qualified for…

Richard Hudson NOT a fan of the Trump wall either

Here’s one more piece of evidence for those of you who really WANT to believe that manufactured politician Richard Hudson is an actual Tea Party-style conservative who doesn’t march in lockstep with Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy: […] Hudson joined Tillis in criticizing some of Trump’s policy points. He said “a 2,000-mile concrete wall” on the Mexican border might not happen and might not need to happen, although he did say there needs to be more border security in general.[…]  Thom Tillis went on Tucker Carlson a few weeks ago and got his ass handed to him after making similar…

The congressman has NO CLOTHES

The people are seeing just what Richard Hudson wants them to see — just like with the emperor in that fairy tale.  Hudson moved back to North Carolina — after a long tenure in DC — to run for Congress in 2012.  He fraudulently passed himself off as a local small businessman during that campaign — and continued to do it, after being exposed by Democrats AND this site, as late as the 2016 Eighth district Republican primary. He talks a big game to try and pass himself off as a conservative.  But he has steadily held an F-rating for…

Empty-suit Candidate fabricating his bio? In Florida, a scandal. In NC? (*YAWN.*)

The driveby media in Florida has decided to actually do its job when it comes to informing voters on the candidates:  Today Congressman Patrick Murphy is on the fast track to the United States Senate. After just three years in the House, the Democrat from West Palm Beach is the anointed star of his party, enjoying the full-throated backing of President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden – both of whom came to Miami in recent weeks to campaign for him. Tens of millions of dollars will be spent to get him elected, with Democrats hoping to take back control…

NC-08: More fun with Cabarrus Marketing

So, now it appears we’re stuck with Little Richard — aka “Nee-Nee in a suit and tie” — for two years.  It’s time we got to know our new, um, “representative” in Washington.  Ol’ Rich ran for office as a “small businessman” in 2012.  *Never mind that he quit his Capitol Hill job one day, filed LLC formation paperwork with Elaine Marshall’s office, and then filed for office the next day.  Details, shme-tails.*  All this “business” activity went down in October 2011.  When he launched his 2012 campaign, Hudson’s website said: ”    […]”Richard is the owner of Cabarrus Marketing Group,…

NC-08: Tim D’Annunzio.

I know that may come as a shock for some of you. We’ve never been big fans of Richard Hudson.  He was plucked from obscurity, as a longtime NC and DC GOP gofer / lieutenant / underling to take on Democrat Larry Kissell in the 8th district in 2012.   Robin hHayes and Eric Cantor bankrolled him.  Karl Rove and John Boehner ran ads and promted him.   Hudson even invented a fictitious business so he could campaign as a “small businessman” as opposed to a “career political operative.” Here’s his record, as evaluated by Conservative Review.  An unimpressive D…

NC-08: Hudson dumps on Trump, touts his fake business

This guy Richard Hudson is making it soooooooo much easier to vote against him:  […] Hudson also had some harsh words for Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, referring to him as a “buffoon” in calling for the United States to ban Muslims from entering the country.[…] Oh, while he was trashing someone who actually HAS a successful business, Little Richard decided to bring up his alleged “business”: […] Hudson moved to Concord in Cabarrus County, just outside Charlotte in 1998. He said he started a political consulting and marketing business called Cabarrus Marketing Group in 2011, which he…

NC-08: The Hudson record

We’re getting flooded with a lot of mailers in this area touting Richard Hudson’s “conservative” record in Washington.  (Currently, Conservative Review has Hudson rated with a grade of D (60%) in their conservatism rankings.)  Just like we did with Richard Burr, we thought we’d take a closer look to see how accurate — or not — that “conservative” label is: 2013:  RYAN-MURRAY BUDGET DEAL Vote Result Date: 12/12/2013 Conservative Position: No Hudson Vote: Yes The Ryan-Murray budget deal undid the required spending cuts called sequestration. These spending cuts were designed to pay for the August 2011 debt limit increase. Voting for…

#nc-08: Following the Hudson money

As of March 31, Richard Hudson is showing more than a million bucks in his campaign kitty — with more than 2/3 of it coming from PACs and other special interests.  We took a deeper look inside ol’ Rich’s campaign finance documentation and found some more interesting things: Mrs. Hudson’s ties to Rove / Boehner-allied organizations:   The sweet young blonde housewife with the baby that you see in Rich’s campaign ads is actually — or has been – a high-powered DC fundraiser for establishment Republicans.  Here’s Conservative Review:  […] Hudson’s wife, Renee, served as long-term chief of staff to disgraced…
